It could just be the load is out of balance which would mean redistributing the load or adding something if you only have one or two items in the drum. The other scenario is the pressure chamber has blocked and the machine thinks the drum is still full of water. To find out if it is the pressure chamber remove the lid off the machine, locate the pressure switch, it will probably be round in shape and about 3 inches across with a few wires comeing out one side and a rubber hose connected to the under side. Remove this hose carefully and listen for a click as you do so, if the chamber is blocked you will hear the click because the switch is resetting. Now follow the hose down and it will lead you to the chamber, remove it and clean it out, dont be tempted to just blow down the pipe because that is not a lasting solution and will block again in no time. Before putting your hands in the machine turn off the power and remove the mains plug.

Hi i have a hoover washing machine hnf 6127 it functions perfectly but wont spin the drum goes round on the wash cycles but will not pick up speed on the spin i have checked the filter is not blocked

If it is not picking up speed on the spin cycle then it is the motor or the belt. check the belt first for proper tension and make sure the motor has the proper output. I think something is slipping and not transferring torque to the tub.

Drum will not spin just rotates back and forward as if washing did start to spin slowly then went back to rotation

Hi! Sounds as though your pressure chamber is blocked, to test it remove the top of the machine (having first removed the mains plug) locate the pressure switch normaly a round object with about three or more wires coming out from one side and a hose connected to the under edge. Disconnect the hose and replace the top of the machine then plug it in and select a spin program, if the machine goes into spin it is the chamber thats blocked (it is at the other end of the hose you took off from the switch) remove the chamber and clean it out. Dont forget to replace the hose on the switch or the machine will over fill.visit www.selfix-uk.co.uk for more answers to other questions

I have an Indesit washing machine and when it get to a fast spin cycle it sounds like it is washing a load of rocks. It is very loud. It doesn't seem to do this when the drum is turning slowly.

Hi.
It soumds to me like the main drum bearings have failed.
From the front of the washer, put your hand inside the drum and spin it round, it should be noise free, if it feels rough or is grating or rumbling, then the bearings have failed.
This is quite a big and involved repair to undertake.

No idea why but it happens to us to. You need to cancel the wash, switch off and leave a few mins then retry, not that it may work.

Now the spin cycle has stopped on ours too plus the spin is not actually working, drum is just going round and round slowly! We've had it just over a year so the guarantee has finished too :-(
