Mitsubishi WD-73827 73" HDTV DLP TV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 22, 2010

I have replaced the bulb in 73" DLP tv, plays for about a week, then turn it back on, got sound for a few, checked the bulb, pulled it out to ensure had not already blown again. Reinstered and played again for a few more days. Then does the same thing, turn on, is blinking green light, then red light comes on. What could be the issue with the lamp not comming on, having to remove and reinsert lamp and start working again?

If it's a generic lamp try to put an OEM otherwise check connectors of the ballast and lamp, also check the fans because if theyre not working the DMD board receive that info and turns the tv off also it could be also the ballast that could not be regulating the voltage to keep the lamp on, good luck =]

Sound no picture

Like stated before--May be another bad blub, especially if you used a generic or Neolux one. A phillips bulb WILL work right. Mits sets do NOT like generic bulbs !!

73" Mitsubishi DLP. turned on the tv and got only sound, no picture. after a minute it would shut down and red light would pop on the front. replaced bulb and hooked it back up. now it turns on but af

Try cleaning the little fans that keep the bulb cool, the temp sensor will shut it off so not to damage the bulb , the winning sound may be the fan going bad or not working like it should.

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.
