Takes a long time to down load game settings

Initially when you enter FIND GAME on COD4 online, DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS comes up and it can take 10 minutes plus to finally allow play. Once in no trouble at all ?

i have the same problem, but mine will sit there for hours and do nothing till i finally just have to quit the game, but if try to log in after midnight this does not happen very much at all, i think this happens because the playstation network is so busy. i could be wrong, but that is the only reason that i can think of why this is going on

Never had serious problems till I downloaded the newest update the other day Now I have downloading game settings and watch the screen till i get fed up and hut it off. Read somewhere that you can go into the wireless router shut down UPNP and open ports 3074 3075 to fix it haven't tried it yet but thought you needed UPNP enabled for nat2 for headset use guess i'll try it

cod 4........started 3 days ago. loaded game, selected multiplayer and it reads the hdd, play online, downloading game settings comes up for a few seconds as normal. try to find game online, options for game play(team death, free for all etc.) is blank and downloading game settings comes up with a waiting period of 2-10 minutes, or it won't let me in at all, just keeps saying downloading game settings. tried full system restore even a new disc and still the same result.

I found this on another help site for getting the same thing. I tried this tonight when I was stuck in the Dowloading Settings and it worked for me. Not sure if it was coincidental that it went online after I finished this or not...but it got me online after 2 days. Here is what to do...
"another solution is.. go to barracks, leaderboards, kills and hit change filter so the worldwide kills screen is up turn ur controller upside down and let it scroll up for about a 15 mins - 30 mins . then hit O 3 times to get back to the original menu and do fins game.. this worked for me on 1 account but not on another.. if u have nothin else to do try it.. cuz this stupid error was annoying the bleep outta me."

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The problem you are describing may be solved by enabling DMZ on your router. This opens up all ports on the router.

same problem for me, an update should be released soon to fix the problem. the game seems to randomly work at times however, so you can get lucky by keep trying. also there is a temporary fix. after going and getting stuck on the downloading game settings, unplug then replug your modem. after this the game should work for a few games, but you'll have to do this everytime you wanna play.

hopefully that helps, and hopefully a patch will be released
