Shimano CX200 mtb brake levers- can't seem to find locking screw to remove levee from handlebar.

This is from a different model but it's old school, too, so it probably applies to yours.

"The Shimano 200GS is held to the bar with a hidden screw like old ten-speed brake levers. Remove the cable. Squeeze the brake lever. Look for the head of a screw or bolt in the gap exposed by the open lever/perch."

My dahon p8 i think is slipping gears, when i put in 7 today it's fine for a second then it's feels like i'm in 1. i tried to shift to various gears while riding to see if that would magically correct it...

"Feels like" it shifted or did it actually shift??? If NOT the latter maybe your brakes are rubbing. Analyze. Or maybe the shifter is moving. Or the shifter cable is not gliding smoothly in the cable housing.

When I received my new Dahon Speed D7, the front brake's pads cramp up on the rotor. I tried to adjust the cable tension from the little dial at the handlebar but could not find the difference. Is there...

I think that bike has a v-brake on the front. You probably need to loosen the spring tension adjustment screws. On each brake, near the pivot, there is a small screw - turn them counterclockwise until you see a gap between the pad and the rim. If you don't have enough play, you may need to loosen the screw on the top of the right (i think) brake to give you some slack. Try the tension screws first.

My 2000 mitsubishi galant trunk want open with key or latch under front by driver seat. I need help finding emergency release in trunk

Sorry my friend, I think you won't find one....The best way is to fold back the carpet and locate the end of the broken cable, and then take a pair of pliers and pull the cable from there...
When it comes to replacing the cable it would be easier to remove the front and rear seats enabling better access to the cable....Then fold back more of the carpet.
There is usually a ten millimeter nut holding down the lever.... Remove that and then remove the trunk locking mechanism....That will mean removing two additional ten mil bolts
With those removed unhook the cable from the lock....It will have a small round ball at the cable end. This can easily be removed via the slot provided.
Tape the new cable to the end of the old one....Unhook any outer cable retaining clips you find, so the the cable cannot be caught anywhere.Refit in the cable into the trunk lock mechanism, this so that the cable cannot be pulled all the way through, if you should pull too far....gently pull the cable through
Refit the lever to the floor and then refit the trunk mechanism....The rear cushion is released by pulling upwards and fitted back by locating the retaining tongues into their slots....To remove the front seat, move all the way forward to remove the bolts at the rear of the rails and then slide it back to get the front ones removed....
Sorry I couldn't help any other way....Regards Johngee10

Dahon Vitesse: i have tried to tighten my folding mechanism in

Here is one manual:http://files.dahon.com/support/manuals/2009/2009_16inch_20inch_fold_unfold_guide.pdf Here is a much more detailed manual:http://files.dahon.com/support/manuals/2009/2009_dahon_user_manual_en.pdf It looks to me as if the handle bar stem has to be up high enough so that the end of the stem will clear the fold when you fold it down. Otherwise the stem will be down inside the bike and it won't be able to fold. If that makes any sense. The better manual has good pictures and diagrams and explains the locking mechanisms a lot better. Please rate me if this helps.

How do you undo a wheel on a dahon speed 7?

Hello, I have a Dahon XP which is similar to yours and to undo a wheel is very simple, because the wheels have a quick release lever on the right side of the axle going through the center of each wheel hub. Simply grab the lever and pull it open to take the wheel out, for example if you want to change a flat tire.

The rear drum brakes:
  • Have internal shoes that expand against the brake drum (1126).
  • Are a single-anchor type.
  • Are actuated by one rear wheel cylinder (2262).
  • Have two pistons in the rear wheel cylinder (2261). One exerts force against the upper end of the primary shoe; the other exerts force against the upper end of the secondary shoe.
  • Adjust rear brake shoes and linings (2200) automatically.
  • Need manual brake adjustment if the adjusters are not operating properly or after the rear brake shoes and linings have been replaced.
When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic fluid pressure forces the pistons in the rear wheel cylinder outward, moving the rear brake shoes and linings against the brake drum.
The rear drum brake system includes the parking brake mechanism. Refer to Section 206-05 .
