Two issues..let's handle them one at a time, shall we?

get new printer drivers here first..

don't see your model or make, so it's a guess that you might find it there.

This is a matter you should take up with your telephone
service provider ( at&t / Bell, Verizon, Sprint, Time Warner
Cable, Comcast, Vonage, or whomever ). Cancelling or
adding a purchased service is 'way outside the scope
of a "...can I help you ?..." internet forum.
Good luck!

How should the D-link be setup to work with comcast and vonage? After I set vonage or internet do not work. I tried the comcast modem to d-link and d-link to vonage.

If you want to RECEIVE telephone-calls:

COMCAST ADSL/CABLE modem <---> VONAGE <---> wireless-router

Turn each piece off.
Turn on the COMCAST modem, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.
Turn on the VONAGE router, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.
Turn on the D-link router, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.
Restart the computer that is connected to the D-link router,
and you should have Internet access.

Since a fax works over an analog telephome signal this is no different when you hook up a phone to your vonage. I believe you hook up a regular telephone to your vonage router via a telephone jack in the back of it. If so plug the fax machine into it via a splitter

Internet connection problems

Sorry but that seems to be a pretty convoluted explanation. Here is how it should go.
Vonage unit connected to phone line(s) and cable modem. Linksys connected to Vonage box. Computers connected to Linksys.
Ethernet has a length limitation of about 300 feet before you need another switch (hub) or a repeater. Does your wire length exceed this?

Dell printer A940 fax trouble

Unless you have 'VOIP' telephone service with Comcast, your FAX will connect through your home's telephone line, not the internet (or modem). You would connect your phone line to the all-in-one printer, then follow Dell's instructions for use. Good luck!

I can't seem to get the communications connections connected to send a fax. I have internet telephone and internet service and don't know where to connect what?

FAXes are sent and received through the telephone line connection on the back of the printer. There are two RJ11 connectors - one to your house wiring, and the other to your telephone handset. At a minimum, connect to your house wiring.

The FAX drivers and software should have been installed with the rest of the software. Confirm by checking in Control Panel, Printers, to see if "Canon MX700 series FAX" is in the list.

I use Vonage as my telephone service provider, and I've had excellent results both sending and receiving.

Hope it helps!
Mike

With choppy audio and one-way audio, either party on the call hears the audio breaking up, or no audio at all. Dropped audio is when a call is in session and both parties are unable to hear each other.
  • From your Vonage account, there is a feature called the bandwidth saver. This feature controls the amount of bandwidth used for a phone call. Try adjusting the bandwidth saver to either medium or normal. After you adjust your settings, test and see if there is a difference in the audio quality. Please note that when you change bandwidth saver it could take a few minutes for the device to reboot and take the changes. From your Vonage account, there is a feature called the bandwidth saver. • Ensure that your Vonage device is at least four feet away from any other device.
  • Ensure your Vonage device is in a well ventilated area to keep from overheating.
  • Ensure no file sharing, P2P applications, or large downloads are running while you are using the phone. These activities can use up most of your bandwidth, leaving little left for your calls.
  • Connect your Vonage device directly to your cable / DSL modem, if it is not already. If this helps the audio quality, then the problem is occurring between the Vonage device and modem.
  • If your Vonage device connects to another router and not directly to your cable / DSL modem, try disabling any firewalls or SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) on that router. Click here to learn about firewalls and SPI.
  • If you wish not to disable your firewall, then you can port forward the Vonage traffic to the adapter. Click here to learn about port forwarding.

Wireless Routers and Cordless phones — If you have a wireless router and a cordless phone:

  • Ensure there are no more than five phones connected through the house wiring. The signal fades as more phones are connected to house wiring.

Lap top not connecting to signial

Yes you can reconnect your router. Whoever did that at Comcast had no business doing that and should be reported and return their equipment back to Comcast asap. It could appear on the bill.

I have a Linksys modem on my Comcast router and it works fine. I don't let them touch it because it uses T-Zones at home service for phone use and it uses a special router to manage it since it has a sim card to run the phone line.

Vonage equipment can be used as well.

I wonder if they were trying to put their phone service onto your system?
