Did you try charging the battery? You battery power level may be low. Not sure what you are looking for, but you could get a wall charger. You or someone you know might have a plug for an older cell phone that uses the USB mini-b plug. That would allow you to charge it in your house or car without a computer. You can purchase USB charges for you home or car. Finally, you could follow the many instructables on building your own USB charger, if you wanted a learn something while you are at it. All of these would allow you to charge without a computer, which is what I think you are asking about.
