How do i get my sansa connect out of recovery mode?

When the player hangs in recovery mode, follow up next actions to reset the device:

Make sure your Sansa Connect player is charged and the HOLD switch is in the unlocked position. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then release it. This will force the Sansa connect player to reset and restart.
If your player still will not start after trying the reset, you may need to run the Sansa Connect Recovery application.
With a copy of the Sansa Connect Recovery application installed on a PC, you can connect your to the device via the USB cable to the PC, and restore the device software to an uncorrupted state.
However, all of your subscription settings and content will be removed from the device.
The help function above and the recovery application can be reached with next link:

Why won't my computer recognize my sandisk player.....i just plugged in the usb cable directly in the computer....but it's not being recognized.

For the Sans e260, see the e200 series support site on "not recognized":

1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

NOTE: Resetting will turn the player off while it is frozen.

When RESETTING the player did NOT help

Solution 2

For e200v1/e200R (Recovery mode only): Connecting in Recovery mode
For e200v2 (Force MSC mode only): Enabling MSC mode

Check your firmware, see the differences on next link:

Method 1: Automatic, using the Sansa Firmware Updater

Method 2: Manual, downloading firmware from the Sansa Forum
For e200 series version 1 and 2 to the Forum e200 thread
For e200 series version Rhapsody to the Forum e200R thread

My Creative Zen Touch is frozen. When I hold down the "Menu" button, the screen does not change. When I connect to the computer and attempt to run Creative Mediasource Organizer, I get a message that the...

I would run the recovery console from the player itself. Make sure the Touch's power supply is plugged in (and unplugged from a PC) then to access the recovery mode of the Touch, hold down the Play/Pause button while inserting a straightened paper clip into the reset hole on your player, give it about five seconds then remove the paper clip.
Next, keep on holding the Play/Pause button until the Rescue Mode screen appears. After you see the rescue mode menu, you can release the play/pause button.
I would try a "clean up" first, as this is less intrusive and will not erase data.

My sansa mp3 player will not be recognized by any computer and will not go to menu and says not enough space avaliable for music db

Try the following steps:
There are files in the player that might be corrupted causing the device to freeze and stop responding.

SOLUTION 1 - Reset the device

SOLUTION 2 - Force MSC or Recovery mode then update to the latest firmware.

STEP 1 - Force MSC or go to Recovery mode
For e200v1/e200R (Recovery mode only): Connecting in Recovery mode
For e200v2 (Force MSC mode only): Enabling MSC mode

STEP 2 - Update to the latest firmware

If the above doesn't help, try this:

1. Make sure you Windows Media Player 11 (Goto Help --> About WMP --> v??) 2. If you do not have it, install it from this location:   3. Change the Mode on Device: Go into Menu --> Settings --> USB Mode:Auto Detect/MTP/MSC   4. Select MSC and it should work. If it does not try Powercycling your device (turn it off and then turn it on).  5. Try other modes as well.

Keep the device in AutoDetect Mode and follow the instructions below:

i. Connect your Device
ii. Right click on My Computer and select Manage
iii. Select Device Manager
iv. At the right hand side look out for Portable devices and click on the + symbol to display your device
v. Right Click on the device and select Update Drivers
vi. Select 'No, not at this time' and click Next
vii. Select 'Install from a list or specific location' and then click Next
viii. Select 'Don't search, I'll choose the driver to install' and then click Next
ix. Select 'MTP Device' and then click Next. This should install the device and then should be ready for use

Recovery mode

to reset this player -- take out the battery and put back again.
In the recovery mode do the following: format the HD, clean the firmware. If those two go smoothly, go to and download the firmware, connect player to PC(still in recovery mode) and run the downloaded firmware.
