Leapfrog leap pad writing plus wont power on, no response at all no matter what you do.

    No response to power button. Reseating batteries results in prolonged beeping but no power on or other repsonse. Leapster is less than 2 months old.

Contact leapfrog they are awesome when a product breaks they will send you a brand new one if you tell them the issue and its not fixable!!!

Try taking it back to the store, or contacting leap frog for repair. Looks like in the US, the warranty is about 3 months, but in Canada or the UK it is longer.

Leappad does not respond to stylus

It could be one of several things, a system reset, a firmware update but it sounds like a screen cable has become disconnected or similar fault. Before doing anything, is it still under warranty, if so its best to go back to the vendor or leapfrog and request an exchange. Here's the url to their support page.

If the warranty is out of date, then its down to dismantling the pad and looking for ribbon connectors which may have come adrift.

I just had the same exact problem. We followed the leap pad recommendations for cleaning the stylus connection. Then we used a q-tip to clean the cartridge port and blew into it. Now it works.

IS there a replacement screen for the leapster 2?

I've looked all around and can not find a replacement screen that you can buy. If you have a warranty on it, you may want to use it. If you do not, try contacting LeapFrog and see what you can do.

Leap frog globe pen replacement

The leapfrog webpage gives this info for getting replacement pens:
"If the pen was physically damaged (your dog chewed it, your child ripped the cord, etc.) the replacement cost is $5 to cover shipping and handling. Pen won't work on Quantum Leap Exporer Globe

ok, last night I was doing some research on my daughters leapster, its not a quantum leap, but maybe can be fixed the same way. I found out that you can "recalibrate" the machine. I used the instructions for the leapster, but here is what they said about the Quantum:

Turn the power on. Wait until you see the "Home" screen.
Find the small hole in the back of your Pixter unit above the battery compartment door. That’s the calibration hole.
Insert, push and hold the stylus in the calibration hole. Turn Pixter over so that you can see the screen. When you see two plus signs, remove the stylus from the calibration hole.
First touch the plus sign in the upper left corner with the tip of the stylus.
Then touch the plus sign in the lower right corner with the tip of the stylus.
