First thing I'd check is for a BIOS update for your computer under the Acer support pages (acer.com). In some cases, thermal control updates are included in newer version of the BIOS, if it is a manufacturing problem.
Goto http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php and download Hardware Monitor, start the computer and immediately run the hardware monitor app to check how high the temperature on the CPU gets before it shuts down.
Continuing use under this condition may damage your Windows installation because of the sudden shutdown.
