Got it...well..then you'll find that under the bottom, where there is a plate with one or two screws..if you have more memory(check your system in control panel) then you may find more under the keyboard.

Philips Freevents X65 - how do I access memory slots to upgrade

Most times the memory slots will be on the bottom of the laptop. You just remove the power cord, remove the battery then remove the screws to the cover that houses the memory. Look for little icons on the cover, the circular discs will be the cd drive and the hard drive. The memory cover icon will have a jagged square on it.

If the memory is not on the bottom of the laptop then it will be located under the keyboard and palmrest area which means you will have to take them apart to get to it.

Laptop memory upgrade - Freevents X67

There are usually small buttons that slide in order to unlock access doors in the case, in addition to the screws. Look at the bottom of the laptop for switch type of buttons. There should be one to hold the battery and the cd drive and one for the hard drive. Keep a coffee cup next to you in order to drop the small screws and parts into it so that they do not get knocked off of the table during your work.
PLEASE RTE THIS ADVICE WIT SOME THUMBS UP!!!

How do I open my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop to install more memory?

Hi: You have a small plastic access panel on the bottom side of your laptop that has one or two small phillips head screws holding it down. Power down your laptop, remove the battery, close the lid, and lay the laptop upsidedown on a towel. open the memory door covern and you can release the old memory by gently spreading the metal tabs on the side of the memory sticks outward.

Just need to know how to insert a new memory stick I bought for my dinosaur 3000. Fry's salesman said I could find a step-by-step instruction. THX!

Dinosaur, as in a old acer aspire 3000 or what?

Most likely two screws on the bottom of the laptop that hold the memory cover closed, inside you will find 1-2 memory modules, you may have to remove one of the old ones and then install the new one, or if one is free install the new one there.

Philips freevents x65 cannot find hard drive

Take it out..clean contacts if its dirty...replace and try to reboot.

If that does not work..try to place hard drive in another compatible machine and see if it detects it.
If you are unable to do that...weight the importance of the information with the cost of professional tech service and make a choice. If its under warranty...take advantage if it.

You have to find out if the HD is functional.

I dont have the original disks i bought it used

Oh ok, it is a blue screen. That means the memory is probably bad, open up the door on the back (will require small phillips screwdriver) and remove one stick of memory, if there is only one stick, you will have to buy another stick of ram to test this. The type is DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) 200-PIN SODIMM, up to 4gb is supported. If it has two sticks of ram, try them individually until you don't get the blue screen anymore, and you will know which stick is bad.
