Well try leaning the gamepacks out with qutips and rubbing alchoal and buy new games to see if they work too. Im guessing that the mem cart that loads up the games in the console might be wearingout too.
Donkey Kong 64wasoneof only three Nintendo64games to require theExpansion Pak(the others being The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark), which provides 4 MB more RAM for enhanced graphics and more expansive environments, as well as to fix a game-breaking bug.We don't think that you can play this game with no expansion pack. I have tried to play perfect dark with no expansion pack and it was not all there then.
The N64 is the third home-console published by Nintendo and is the successor of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was competing with the Playstation 2 and the Dreamcast. The name Nintendo 64 comes from the fact that it was one of the first 64-Bit consoles. The "64" can also be found in various game titles like "Super Mario 64" oder "Donkey Kong 64". The console was released in 1996 and the last game was released in 2002. Which made this console popular was mostly the nintendo only milestones. The Zelda game (Ocarina of time) is among fans, still the best Zelda game ever released. It was also the debut of the first 3D Mario and Donkey Kong games.
Well it might just be the fact that its an old console and those games are out of date same thing happens to me i wouldn't worry about it too much try cleaning the gamepacks out with qutips and rubbing alcohal then.
Try blowing out the Game slot on the console, and then blow out the large metal prong on the bottom of the game. Also try waiting a little bit, your nintendo might need to cool down.
After a long time n64 games fail to start up on most attempts, so keep trying, it will start up eventually.
I have trouble with my old N64 cartridges also, some work and some don't. Typically, I would suspect the cartidges as being the problem, but in your case, it's possible there is an issue with the game unit itself since none of your games fully works. Sometimes wiggling the cartridge and hitting the reset button can help get games running, if the cartridge connectors are a bit corroded.
