Stove began beeping and flashing F7. Repairman diagnosed problem as needing new "control panel" with a repair charge of over $800 which we declined. Husband purchased part #WP71001799 for $168 and installed it. Stove still beeping. Can anyone help ?

I have the same problem. How do I know it's one or the other. It'll cost me $400 in parts to replace both rather than $200 for the 1 correct part.

f7 is the code for a shorted keypad or membrane have your husband disconnect the mylar ribbion from the range and gently clean the end with a pencil eraser then reconnect and try again if that doesnt work replace the touch pad
