check the lamp if you havent changed it before that would be the easiest place to start. if the lamp is popped you will see glass pieces rolling around in the lamp.
Does the standby light blink,if so how many times? If no blinks, unplug it from the outlet, then take the back off and check the fuse,if blowed, only replace it with the same amps. it should be wrote on the end. But need to know if it blinks or not and how many times.........hope this helps......
Six blinks=no horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self diagnosis function immediately. check the horizontal circuits, not sure what the repair will cost you.
you can try this to reset the tv to manufacturer defaults, but there is no guarantee it will clear the problem. to do this, with the tv in standby, quickly press "display", channel "5", volume "+", then power. once the service menu is up, press 8 and then enter, and lastly the power button.
this should reset to factory defaults. once again, no guarantee this will help, but the no horizontal (h-stop) diagnosis should give you something to ask the repair techs about over the phone to get a rough estimate of repair cost.
i had the same problem to, i replaced the thermal fuse and everything was back to normal. Be careful if you are a gamer because both times this has happened i was playing my xbox
Hmm. Tricky problem. It could be the main fuse blown and the standby power suply is only working.
Worts case senerio is that one of your amp is faulty and the unit is in protection mode.
If the fuse is dead then you are lucky, just get the cover open, remove the power before hand, and do a little search, Most of the time it will be in a glass tube ( glass cartridge type) rated at 250VAC with a nominal of around 5 to 7 amps rated current. U can check it with DMM in a continuity mode. If fuce blown replace with the same rating and it has to be slow blow type.
Cheers
