Label Maker HELP!! Brother ptouch 1180

There was a jam in my brother ptouch 1180 label maker, and I had to cut the tape to get it out. Then I noticed the warning on the back that said "so not try to cut the tape duing printing or feeding, doing so may damage the tape cassette..
I know it can be fixed, I am not very mechancally inclined however, and cannot figure out where to feed which part into the internal wheelies of the label maker .. Any advice?

My headphone wire was cut into two parts how do I fix it

Just strip the insulation back to reveal the wires, there should be 3 wires, one for the left headphone, one for the right headphone and a shield wire.
join the wires that have the same colors (solder each wire together) wrap each wire with insulation tape so they do not short against each other and then bind the whole lot together.
You headphones should work again.

HELLO, MY WIFE BOUGHT A BROTHER MFC-685CW.WE Cant even get passed getting the buttons to work. when you depress any key it just beeps and does nothing. We have not even got to installing the drivers yet...

Hi,

Most multi purpose devices such as the Brother MFC-685CW has some sort of transport lock. This could either be plastic lugs/screws or nuts strategically located. In some versions, these could simple be plastic colored tape. The initial set-up instructional pamphlet should indicate where they are.

Your particular model has also yellow protection caps/tabs in place when transported without the ink, have you checked those?

Alternately, you can try a reset by simply unplugging the unit from the mains for a couple of hours.

Not knowing where you are, I couldn't forward a contact number. However, you can try here and click on your region. Alternately, pls try:
Brother International Canada, Toll-free: 1-800-361-6466
http://www.brother-usa.com/; Support Phone Number: 1-800-284-4329

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Help changin cartridge for the lc 51 series

The Brother lc-51 series cartridges fit a variety of different Brother printers.

On this Brother.com support page

you should select the printer model that you have, and download the user manual for your printer. Once you've downloaded the manual, look in the 'Routine Maintenance' section for how to change the printer cartridges.

Brothe MFC-240C paper jam error msg won't clear

**, it is not fixed. I followed instructions on Brother web site and was able to find a piece of paper near the printhead, so I removed it. The printer makes a grinding sound when it tries to print and the same paper jam error returns and can't be cleared. I beleive that the printer repair cost will be more expensive than replacing it with a different printer, and it won't be Brother brand. I probably would not be able or have the tools to do any complicated repair job.

Brother Laser Printer

That is a very good possibility. Most printers that are no longer being manufactured are not supported by vista due to the makers are no longer writting the drivers.

WE HAVE A CANON MP530 COLOR PRINTER. DURING A PRINTING OF LABELS, WE HAD A PAPER JAM, WHICH WAS CLEARED. WE ARE NOW GETTING A MESSAGE "U052" CONCERNING THE PRINT CARTRIDGES, WHICH WE CANNOT...

Pls chk thoroughly the inner parts are clear of any shreds of paper. Blow air thro vacuum cleaner. A small piece of paper sitting on a sensor can create this sort of problem. (For eg, the cartridge stops at both the ends after 'sensing' the end. If paper sticks here, it cant sense and will lead to a crash)
