Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

TV shuts itself off

After the tv is on for under one hour, it just shuts itself off. My brother-in-law works for a cable company and he said it is the power supply/source. I wanted to get another opinion. If it is, are they expensive and should it be fixed? Thanks.

Tv shuts itself down

This is due to bad caps read here what a cap is www.badcaps.net see you tv is getting hot as normal but the caps cannot stand it any more thus shutting the tv down. The bad caps would be more or less in the power supply unit of this TV. So you can buy a new psu or get it repaired by a expert.

The Sharp people told us they have had 35 complaints in my area about the Cable company signal (Cablevision) screwing up these t.v.s. Seems the digital channel settings are not compatible with the signal. I tried to confirm this with the cable company and they have no plans to fix anything on their side. If I unhook and re-hook the cable, the t.v. seems to work again. This is annoying because it happens on ABC where my favorite shows are!

Wd-62628 video freezes, audio stops, 30 sec later TV shuts off

Intermittent problems are the most difficult to find because they don't show up long enough to trace them down. Today the digital sets are all cpu controlled and a glitch from any board can lock up the set. The problem can even be software related, such as settings or firmware updates. Unfortunately we as technicians do not have a history of symptom/cause on the newer digital sets. Your best bet is to e-mail Mitsubishi with the symptom as described above, such as the blinks, E2P, signal source etc ... and ask them what they think. techservice@mdea.com good luck
