Error reading from a disk, why does this keep happening when am trying to boot up my computer?

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I have lost the key code for my Power DVD XP 4.0 aplication CD that came in a bundle package with my Mad Dog Entertainer 16X DVD- ROM hardwhare. how can I retrieve this code?

If you have installed the software on your computer and activated it, there is software available to recover this number, but it not advisable for a beginner to use this kind of software as incorrect use can cause damage to the operating system.

PC does not detect HD after installing CD ROM

I assume that both are on the same cable. You need to check the jumper on your CD ROM and make sure its set to 'slave'. The HD is usually set to "master".
Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks.

Ez661-t cd

I wouldn't bother with windows 98, its more bother than its worth! XP has been given an extention to 2013 so you should be able to obtain a copy at a microsoft certifed retailer, when you update windows the drivers should be installed automaticly

No sound

The problem lies withn windows. I would reccomend performing a system restore to a date when it was working. While you wont lose your documents, emails etc, it will uninstall any apps you have installed since that date.

I have just connected a HP Deskjet 3940 to my new acer computer and it is not printing. I went in print then options and clicked on a few things but still not working. Have new cartidges in 22 and 21

un install the printer driver, reboot ,windows should detect new hardware ,and then insert the cd that came with the printer select have disc and re-install the software.
if your acer has vista you may need to get a vista driver for it,or worse the printer is not compatible with vista.

good luck

is your jumper setting in your cd drive correct? during boot up, does your computer detects your cd rom drives? cd rom drives must be in slave. Check also your ide cable, be sure its not connected reverse.
