Yuck! Soyo filed for bankruptcy in May and their website is gone!
You need to enable the SATA in the rom bios AND install the drivers for it; but, I hope you have the manual and the CD.
Pretty simple. You'll just need to determine whether the system uses SATA or IDE for the hard drive interface. Many machines manufactured in the past couple of years use SATA, but any 2.5" drive will be compatible providing you have the correct interface. ATA drives for laptops are generally called PATA and if it's such an interface any ATA-6 drive will be compatible.
You might need a SATA driver for the Vista installation, so bear that in mind. You'd specify additional drivers during the setup process.
You will still need the original drivers and OS using this method first you need to remove your hard drive, determine wether it is an IDE or a SATA or other connections and get a USB IDE or SATA connection connect this to your hard disk open you HD to another PC like a USB flash Card back up all DAT using this technique then reformat you HD return your HD to you laptop reinstall OS and drivers then you have a fresh laptop. Buying a new Hard disk will also be easier then you can just use your old HDD as a backup. Best of luck read manuals and be careful.
