If they are diferent resolutions, ex. you change from 200 dpi to 300 dpi, you need to change something inside the printer like the gears (just reversing the platten roller gear and the the withe gera on the motor) and you are printing on 300 dpi with very small fontes.

You likely ordered the incorrect resolution printheads.

You must replace printheads with the same resolution printhead as the printer was intended for.

Depending on the exxact model, available resoltions would have been 152, 203 or 300 dpi.

When I send a print job to my Z4MPlus label printer, the label prints but without any ink on it. It is set to Direct-Thermal. What else should I be looing for to correct this issue?

Hi, you can have 3 scenarios here, the print head is faulty, mainboard faulty or darkness set to low, please reset printer to factory default without any lpt/com/usb/network cables connected, turn off and on. try to run Pause test ( turn on printer with pause button pressed for 5 sec and release it)

I created a new label layout in Filemaker pro to print a 4" x 6" label. When I print this label on the Zebra LP 2844 printer it prints fine. If I try to print it on the Z4MPlus it enlarges the print and...

The easiest solution would be to create a new label layout in FileMaker specific for that printer that can be used when printing to that printer which would solve that problem.

The issue with the size being enlarged is most likely with the printer driver and not the FileMaker software so that is where I would look around to see if there is a scaling setting, or some other setting that needs to be corrected in the driver/page setup area for that printer.

I hope I've done a good job answering your question. I am a FileMaker 7 expert (and 8, 9, and 10 as well); if you have any additional questions I will do my best to answer them. If my answer was helpful for you I'd appreciate a 5 thumbs up rating, or a click on the yes this was helpful button. Thank you!

Change label size

Turn the power off. Remove old stock. Load new stock. Turn power on. Restart your program. Form size is software controlled from your form settings downloaded into the printer before your print. Make sure you restart your software to reload them.

Ribbon wrinkles when printing barcodes

This is usually caused by temperature of the thermal print head. This is found in the printing preferences of the printer.

iN THE DRIVER CHECK THE head TEMPERATURE ISSUE. Most certainly you do not heat enough to do the transfer.
Else your ribbon is not mounted correctly. Zebra has an out inking transfer film

Zebra Thermal 2844 prints text poorly

Lizardlick,
I found this information in the user manual:
Let the print head to cool for one minute, then use a new
cleaning pen to swab the print elements (the thin gray
line on the print head) from end to end. NOTE: You do
not have to turn off the printer to do this.
If print quality remains poor after cleaning, try the
Save-a-Print Head cleaning film to remove buildup
without damaging the print head. Call your authorized
reseller for more information.
