Don,
You were in the right place going at it from the front. After removing the grill the bottom edge of the screen has a series of screws holding the lower edging down. Remove the screws and gently but firmly work the sides of the screen frame up to unlatch the top. When you have the screen/frame in your hand just be careful not to go to far with it - wires attaching the panel controls are still attached and don't have a lot of extra length.
Clean the cans, mirror and reverse area of the lenticular screen and re-assemble.

Relay Connector on Mitsubishi TV

IF IT IS A WS-55511 what you are reading is with the speaker grill removed--there will be one or two sets of wires coming from the front keyboard--before you remove the entire screen assembly you need to follow them to the right and unplug both plugs.

The screen assembly will have about 5 screws at the bottom edge--with both plugs free and the screws removed you pull up and lift the screen about 4 inches and pull it off--if you have questions ask before you attempt to remove the screen unit--tell me also why you want to remove it.

If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

I am trying to remove the screen on my Mitsubishi VS-4561 rear projection tv to clean it, how do I remove it? I know it slides up, anyone have a manual???

For my VS-45607 I had to first take off the speaker grill. Then there is a panel just below the screen that can be removed with screws; I removed this just for wire clearance. Then there are a few screws that are along the bottom of the screen that you take off and you should be able to slide the screen up and off. Good luck.

TV NO POWER

Good Day, HOGBOYLE;
I would highly suspect that the TV's signal board has CRT Coolant (fluid) on it. Check closely and remove/clean with acetone. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Good Day, wecalvin;
Suspect fluid on the PCB's.To find suspected liquid on the PCB's, remove the front speaker cover and the small board held on by 5-6 screws. Look at the first 3 to 5" on the PCB. Use bright light it's not always easy to see. If fluid is spotted remove the boards from the back of TV. Use small brush, like old tooth brush, and acetone. You can get acetone from hardware stores
Look for rusted wires or parts and replace as necessary.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

These are fairly simple, remove the speaker cover and then remove the screws at the bottom of the screen, then the whole thing lifts up and off, be sure to unplug the front panel controls, this plug can usaly be found just behind the cover behind the speaker grill
