Hi There I had the same problem and the technican said it was the motherboard. When I got it home and I took out the ram and then put it back in making sure they were seated properly.(MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE ADAPTER AND TAKE OUT THE BATTERY.) You might want to check to make sure the wireless card is seated properly. When you have put the ram back in replace the battery and attach the adapter and try to start again. Since I did both of these on mine it has worked.

I am also user of Acer Aspire laptop. When you on your system after 3 min just press FN+F6. I hope you will see your screen ON. IF not thats mean your monitor not working proper may be display problem. Just visit Acer serviec center. Thx
If you dont see any green lights and you dont hear any boot up sounds ( hd, fans, etc) try to take out battery and just plug in the AC adapter to a known good power outlet. Make sure your power plug is good too. If you hear boot-up sounds, see green lights but no display then toggle on the "fn" key and or try on an external monitor.

hmmm check out your power connection. see is the adaptor giving power to your lap when you connect this to laptop. There might be an indicator at the jack point of laptop to your adaptor.
If the adoptor is not working well then try to use another one of same configuration.
