Question about Refrigerators

Refrigerator condensation I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 70262990, I am starting to see water/ice buildup on my shelfs every couple of days. I have tried to adjust the temperatures for the freezer and refrigerator. Rearrange the food and I have cleaned the compressor area for better airflow. Still see build-up. Any suggestions?

    Kenmore Model # 70262990

    Serial # EK3329568

Lots of water on the glass shelves, in the bottom bins and in the bottom of the refrigerator which also ices over. To no avail, I've moved items around in the fridge and freezer, checked the seals and made certain the ice maker (not hooked up) lever is in "off" position. Please help!

My Freezer works just fine, The bottom half, refrigerator, does not. It is as if it gets really cold, freezing, then kicks off and gets really warm, enough to form condensation on each tower from items suchs as water bottles and soda cans, which will leak down to the bottom and on top of anything in its path. Then sometimes when I open the fridge, i will see ice! So all the condensation freezes, it is back and forth with these two things, im not sure what the issue is

I have a new glass door wine refrigerator. Water condinsation constantly forms on the glass door, builds up and drips to the floor. Is there anyway to prevent this?

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 70262990. When I get wet shelves (water, not just condensation), I was able to trace my source to the cold air vent from the freezer. In my case, the water melts from the evaporator and collects in the rear lower section of the freezer. It is "supposed" to go down the drain tube. However I had the drain hole freeze over. Then additional water from the defrost cycle would accumulate in the freezer floor (under the plastic floor) and eventually find its way down the cold air vent between the freezer and refrigerator section. You'll need to unplug the unit, take the plastic floor out of the freezer, remove the evaporator panel to access the defrost drain, melt the frozen water (hair drier works nice), and remove all the water (towel/sponge & bucket). Make sure the drain is not frozen and not blocked. Then put it back together and plug it in.

Does anyone know how to stop the drain tube from freezing over?

Good luck.

Water drips from the freezer into the fridge.Upon disassemble, there is ice buildup under the coils. kenmore coldspot model #71184101

The defrost timer or the defrost heater element has probably failed. Go to the link below and enter your exact model number; you should find a line-drawing illustration and parts list for your fridge that you can use to locate these items and normally also determine how to remove or install them:

Have you tried adjusting the freezer temperature to a higher level? This worked for my Kenmore. It will take a couple of days to quit leaking.

Your seal may be bad letting in moist air that provides a source of water to condense on parts of the freezer.

Water dripping from freezer onto top shelf of fridge with ice buildup back of freezer

the defroster isn't close enough to the drain to be effective. remove the back wall of the inside of the freezer, remove the excess ice. clear out the ice from the drain using hot water and a turkey baster. there is a kit from whirlpool that uses a piece of metal and a screw around the defrost rod, but I found out that a piece of 14 gauge solid core wire with the insulation stripped off works great too. stick the stripped wire into the drain, 2 to 3 inches, and wrap the rest around the defrost rod.
