Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

Annoying delay Is there something like a reset for the calculator? When I press any key, it has a delay for about 7 seconds and then responds. Sometimes doesn't respond at all. Please I need help, I have exams coming shortly

    I have the same delaying key problem. Memory reset doesn't help.

    Is it same as removing and reinstalling battery?

    I have the same problem and resetting in the reset menu doesnt work i simply doesnt let you

The same thing happened to me. I found somewhere that the no/slow key response could be due to a short in the I/O socket. I blew into it really hard, and it works perfectly now!!!!! I hope this helps.

I have the same problem. i reset all the memory, cleared all the ram, and replaced the batteries.

there is simply nothing that will work.

The reset is found in the memory section first press the 2nd key, then the memory key which is located above the enter key and in the memory you will find a reset command

Ti-83 won't turn on


TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, purchased brand new 7 months ago. Today it quit working, replaced the AAA batteries(brand new) and can't get the unit to turn back on.

Is there a key lock? Nothing is responding when the buttons are pushed.

My TI-89 Titanium will not power on no matter if i change the batteries or press any buttons, any ideas?

If that doesn't do it, reset the calculator. Press and hold the lef-arrow, right-arrow, and 2ND keys, then press and release the ON key.

If that doesn't do it, remove one of the four AAA batteries. Press and hold the ) and (-) keys while replacing the battery. Continue to hold the two keys down for at least five seconds before releasing them.

If that doesn't do it, this step will clear all RAM. Press and hold the 2ND, left-arrow, and right-arrow, then press the ON key.

If that doesn't do it, this step will clear all RAM and Flash memory. Remove one of the four AAA batteries. Press and hold the (-) and ) keys while replacing the battery. Continue holding the (-) and ) keys for five seconds before releasing.
