I've got exactly the same problem with my AVR-2105...as do a lot of people when you search the internet. Even if all cables (exept powercable) are disconected the problem still occurs.

A big thanks in advance for anyone who has the solution!

If your amp looks like it's going to work as normal (ie the front display lights up as it should etc), but then the amp goes into protection mode when the anti-thud circuit times out, then I know what's likely to be wrong.

It's one of the power amplifier channels which has gone faulty.

I just found this out after having this problem with my AVR-1906.

I took the amp apart and de-soldered the suspected channel power transistors (centre channel in my case).....and hey-presto! it fired up as normal (obviously the centre channel would be out of service).

I have ordered the replacement transistors from Farnell (UK) at a miserly cost of around £2-£3 each.

Just waiting for them to arrive.

An alternative is, if you don't use all your channels, take the transistors from a known working but not needed channel and swap them over with the duff ones.

Hope thats of use!

Denon AVR-1312 turns on displays for a second switches off and the red light starts to flash

you most likely have a shortedchannel in the amp that would need to be repaired

No power output or display.green standby light flashes.

Sounds like either a blown mainpower fuse or the thermal fuse for the power transformer. If the protect circuit was kicking in, the display would light up, but then turn off with a red blinking light. the green light with no display means the transformer is not getting power.

Denon AVR-1908 won't power on

Are you getting a standby light at all? Is it flashing? Do you here a click when you plug the unit in? If the answer is no to all of these then you blew a fuse. If you do have soome sort of standby light, then your set is in protect mode. More than likely for a blown channel. If no lights, but you ar egetting a click, you could have a bad transformer. Use a DVM and see if it is open or not. Good luck

Power button turns green, flashes and then turns red and flashes.

Hi,
While working it stops and flashes red approximately 2 seconds interval

Causes
Protection circuit is activated depending on the temperature of the surroundings

Remedy
Switch off the power supply and power on after the temperature have reduced.

While working it stops and flashes red approximately 0.5 seconds interval

Causes
1.Using speakers having less impedance than the specified.
2.If speaker core wire touch each other Protection circuit is activated

Even applying power red flashes 0.5 seconds interval

Cause
Amplifier circuit has failed

Remedy
Switch off the power and contact denon service centre

Thank You

Denon avr-2106 problem!!!

You're drawing too much power from it. Sounds like maybe your sub is hooked up wrong, double check that.

No Power

I mwas gonna suggest that you need the speakers attached but you stated later that it did the same thing with the speakers attached. The unit switching off after it checks its self is NOT a normal thing. TAKE IT BACK BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!! GOOD lUCK
