How is the suction at the hose? If low then you still have a clog which will cause the motor to overheat. Otherwise you may have a motor going bad.

How to order / replace motor exhaust foam filter?

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Maintaining your unit's filter clean and clog-free is crucial in keeping your unit working properly. Your Dyson DC39 has a washable and reusable pre-filter, part number 923413-01.

Washable filters are recommended to be washed after every 1 or 2 uses and replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on the use of your unit.

First, make sure your unit is 'off' and unplugged. Remove the dust bin by pushing the button next to your unit's handle and remove the filter from the bin. Wash your filter under running lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Allow your filter to air dry for 24 hours before placing it back into your unit. Do not use any soaps or detergents and only dry your filter naturally. Placing your unit in a dishwasher and/or dryer may damage the filter.

Having a spare filter is a great idea to have while washing the unit's filter.

My vacum keeps sutting itsself off after a few mins of use. I need to vacum the whole house and dont have tinme for it to cool down every 10 mins

Something is plugged. What you describe sounds like the motors' thermal limiter is opening the circuit to prevent the motor from overheating. You need to open and verify that evey air passageway is clear and the unit has good air flow. I bet you find a blockage, and with one, cleaning ability would be severly diminshed.

Keeps turning itself off, have to wait 20 mins then it starts again. Is it a wiring problem?

the motor is likely getting too hot ... that will trip a thermal protection breaker .. when it cools after 20 minutes then it resets ... the motor gets hot when there is not enough air flow thru it ... you should check or replace all the filters in the machine .. there is a motor filter that you might be able to wash ... check for clogged passageways .. something is stopping air from flowing thru the motor .. usually its just the motor filter clogged ..

Dyson animal shuts of after 5-10 min of use

The "hidden" filter at the base of the unit is the HEPA filter, there is another filter on the side of the vacuum that you can remove and wash with water. Make sure that is washed out. If it's too dirty it will restrict air flow and the motor will overheat.

Dyson dc07 keeps cutting out after few minutes

This is a sure sign of a blockage. The motor cuts out because it gets too hot and will start again when it has cooled. Follow the instructions in your user manual for clearing blockages (you can download a copy from the Dyson website if necessary). Make sure the washable filter is clean too (and completely dry before you use it).

I turn my dyson on and it runs for 5 min then turns off

The symptoms you describe are typical of overheating. That indicates that there's a blockage somewhere. Follow the instructions in your user manual for removing blockages (or you can download a copy from Dyson website if you need to), and make sure the filters are clean too. That should solve the problem.

Dyson DC07 Vacume cleaner trips on thermal after 10 min motor not excesive hot resets after 15 min has been doing this for the last 3 mths. Could it be faulty thermal or motor overheat how can I check...

first, check both filters on that unit. the premotor filter on the side, and the hepa filter underneath the canister. if those filters are clean move through the suction channel and look for a clog or obstruction. also make sure the canister is clean. I have never seen the thermal go bad on those machines (not saying it cant happen though). it sounds like the filters are dirty or you have a clog. its also a good idea to change the pre motor filter if its older than a yr. the foam is fine but the white material behind the foam gets clogged frequently. let me know if you have any other questions and if this doesnt fix the problem.

Got hot and turned off

getting too hot is a sign that the air flow is restricted ... that could be a clogged filter, hose or air intake ... there is a thermal breaker in the moter that will shut the machine off if it gets too hot .. it will automatically reset in 5-10 minutes ... but you have to fix the lack of air flow to keep it running ..
