hey i have same problem with cd ?

I too have a CD stuck in my Lifestyles 48. I called Tech Support and they said to pull the power input to totally power down the unit. Also press on the door to the tray slightly. None of that worked, so they said send it in and $165.00 could fix it. Seems unreasonable for a 2 year old unit. I expect better service considering the initial cost.

I had the same problem on lifestyle 38 series - got a DVD stuck. I tried shutting off the system for 1 min and then pushed eject - didn't work. Then I let the system standby for about 30 mins or so while drive was spinning for some reason. When the buzz stopped, I pushed eject button and disc popped out!!

Meanwhile I'd contacted bose customer support who wanted me to mail in the system for a repair fee of $150...?? I'd expect bose to put in little more quality in their "supposedly high end" systems. My other DVD player (a 40$ machine) drive never had this problem :-)

We had a power surge during a thunderstorm that dimmed our lights, and after that the CD opened as normal.

A friend suggested that I pull the power connector, press the open/close button and hold it down as I reconnected the power connector. The power surge beat me to that, so I don't know if it works. It was more than "Tech Support" could offer however.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Bose lifestyle 48 dvd black and white only

Go to the "Bose" menu screen viewing on your TV (make sure no dvd is in the player) Go to your Video controls and check your output, chances are, if your using the component output your player is set to "S-Video". Should fix the problem. Hope this helps. If it's still not viewing correctly, post a comment and I will help you some more

Lifestyle 48 locked up

Just got off phone with Bose support with this very problem during install of a VS-2 software updtae to an older LS48 system. (Bose support personnel were very helpful on phone - and walked me through procedure to solve). I presume you unplugged and replugged power supply with no resolution. In that case, unplug power supply, wait 30 seconds and while holding down the "open/close button" and the "store" button (on media center) plug the power supply back in. Continue holding until the "Bose Lifestyle" message disappears. I presume this puts the system into a diagnostic mode, as the next steps in my case were to press and hold the "erase" button while scrolling through a menu of options using the "volume up" button. I believe it was the third "volume up" press that brought me to "FLASH" on the system screen. At that point I was told to release the "erase" button and press the enter button. The system rebooted and my VS-2 install went smoothly after that.
I'd recomend calling Bose support (800-905-2138) since your lockup occured during a CD load vs a software update (just to be on the safe side) - I was talking to a live tech support person in less than 15 seconds... a pleasant surprise.

suggest unplug Bose system from the wall for 10 secs, then plug in and allow it to initialise.
if this fails take bose unit to dealer.
