Check the bios to make sure the audio hardware is enabled.

if it is enabled, or if it was working before and you just need drivers:

download and install the sound driver located here:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=288&DetailName=Driver&DetailDesc=L7VTA2%20%20(V1.0)&CategoryID=1&MenuID=82&LanID=0
this sound driver works with versions 1 and 2 of the motherboard.

once you install the driver, if it still does not find the hardware, try forcing it to by going to control panel, system, hardware, device manager and scan for new hardware.

if it still does not work, you most likely have a resource conflict or the sound module on the board is dead.

My computer was reformated, but I cant use my Multi media becuse there is no audio device which the program asking for, what shall i do

Not sure if you are saying you dont have a sound card installed or if when you try to play a movie it says it cant play the audio. if it is the later then i advise you intall a few codec packs. starting with divx, then community codec pak, and ac3 filter. these are the most common codecs required for most of the audio in media files. if it asking for an actual hardware sound insure that you have direct x installed as the media center in windows vista uses direct audio to paly the audio tracks in media files.

The external display stays muted and plays no sound but when I use the headphone port the sounds work. I cant get the laptop speakers to produce any sound though.

Go to control panel and go to sound and hardware (Just go to anything that says sound)!

Then go to sound and audio devices!

Go to Audio and change the default until sound comes out of tv!

Headset isn't recognized by computer and audio doesn't go through headset

With the infamous Vista, try:
Start --> Control panel --> Hardware and sound --> Sound --> Audio devices admin [I have a Spanish OS, I hope it is the same in the English version], then assign as default device the headset.

With Skype and other sw, you have to specifically pick the lx-3000 as the device that will be used as audio device (and the same has to be done to use the mic).

Pretty cumbersome....

could problem be in motherboard config? i.e. if using motherboard sound hardware turn on in config, if using sound card, make sure motherboard sound hardware is off in configuration. it sounds simple, but after almost 15 years of building comps, i still get it wrong sometimes.sometimes
