I can't change my screen res.when i do it go's all white.

Corey_newf_2,
You may need to update the drivers for your graphics card.
To do this, you can find the graphics card you are using. This can be found in the drop down box where you are able to change the resolution on your PC. It would be best to know what the graphics card brand and model is. Example would be Brand: Nvidia Model: GeForce 8600 or Brand: ATI Model: Radeon x1600
Go to the brand names webpage, or do a google search for BRAND drivers (or just update your question with the brand and model and I can find it for you)
Download the driver for your brand and model.
Install the driver as you would any other thing you would install.
Reboot your PC
Try to set your resolution again.

Cheers, Garbanian

I have 2 acer data managerment problem found in edata security software installation it says please close all running programs and reinstall edats security. the second one is catalyst control center is not...

> please close all running programs and reinstall edats security.

Close programs (word-processor, web-browser).
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click on EDATS SECURITY (or something approximately that)
Click Remove
Click OK
Shutdown
Restart
Reinstall the software

> catalyst control center is not supported by the friver [?]
> version of your enabled graphics adapter.

ATI (www.ati.com) distributes the "Catalyst" software with their adapter video-cards. So, there is a problem with the "Control Center" component of their software.

> please update your ati graphics,
> or enable your ati adapter using displays manager

First, do you have an add-in video-card in your computer?
If not, then you should not be trying to use the ATI software,
and you should remove it:
* click Start
* click Control Panel
* click Add/Remove Programs
* select the ATI Catalyst software
* click Remove
* restart your computer

Second, if you have added an ATI card, you may need to restart your computer, press DELETE to enter BIOS SETUP, and "disable" the "onboard" video-adapter, or change the video-priority so that the ATI video-card becomes the "primary" video-adapter, and the onboard video-adapter becomes the "secondary" video-adapter.
Then, click Save Changes, and before selecting Exit From Setup,
move the video data-cable from the onboard VGA port to the VGA port on the ATI video-adapter. Then, "blindly", click Exit, and let your computer restart. Then, during the reboot, the ATI software will recognize the new "primary" video-card, and will the software will control the ATI video-hardware.

Sometimes, it helps to have a second computer monitor, and connect one adapter to the "onboard" VGA-port, and the other to the ATI VGA-port, so that you can see video output wherever it is produced.

Low brightness on second monitor using Radeon X1300 video adapter

According to the X1300 specifications here it does support multiple displays. The option to configure the display is found in the Catalyst application. Do you have the latest version of that? You can get it from their website.

Graphic card problem!?

Follow the directions for installation, I found these are the instructions that have applied to several ATI cards. A most important part of the instructions is to uninstall the existing ATI software before installing new software.
