same issue, however, it's with an installation of gOS space...anyone know how to get the wireless device functioning after clean wipe of win2k and reinstall of gOS (unbuntu variation)?  device will not turn on (no blue light).  had no issues with a same reinstall on a compaq nc4200

Try to get to another computer to access hp website. Download all the nc6320 drivers onto a CD or USB stick. This will take some time as there are a lot of them! Each one needs to be installed separately but each one will run from the CD or USB device. (If your hard drive is not Drive C, then remember to install each driver to the same drive as your operating system. You get a chance to do this each time you install a driver.)

Hmm..sounds like an unhappy device.

the wireless is under control panel, wireless setup..

if it's not there, go to network connections, and see if it's there, and if so, enable or repair the connections

as to the stand by..take care of that later..it's in control panel, display, settings or screen saver,

Dont bother looking its not there.
when u reinstall windows system doesnt recognise wifi so you have to manually install drivers before system knows that they are even fitted.once the drivers are installed windows will detect new device and install.
go to hp site and navigate to ur model drivers ;if you cant find site let me know

If initially the Win XP laptop was connected to internet at the cable/dsl modem, its MAC address would have been registered on service setup. If the router is now in place between the Win XP laptop and the cable/dsl modem, you would need to go on the Win XP laptop and log into the router as admin to clone the Win XP laptop's MAC address to the dlink router's WAN interface (internet facing side) so that the cable/dsl modem will see the previously registered MAC address and will enable the internet access.

Dell Inspiron 2200; Win XP pro; detect router but no connect

Have you change settings on your router? if not try to disconnect and reconnect your dell computer. if still not working. turn off both laptop, turn off the router and modem. wait for 10-20 seconds then turn on the modem first, and if the modem is stable, turn on the router, and if it is stable, turn on the dell computer and try to connect. If still fails, try to delete wireless profile adn recreate it. If still fails, check device manger if there is a problem in your wireless driver. If still cannot connect, perform system restore.

Often this is a simple power management issue. On the laptop check the wireless properties and disable allow Windows to turn off this device to save power.

Network did not assign a network address to the

Hi there, the only reason it doesn't work it's because the wireless key is not correct. It usually shows limited connectivity when the wireless key is not correct. Even just a letter upper or lower case will cause the problem. Since you are connected with the other computer go under the Router settings and double check the wireless key. Check what kind of encryption the router is using, make sure your wireless adapter can support it.

Wireless internet connection

I may be able to help with this...but I need a detailed description of how you have things connected between the XP desktop, the cable, modem, the Linksys router, and the laptop. Also, is the Linksys router new?

Typically, the wan port on the wireless router connects directly to the cable modem with a cat5 network cable....then the desktop pc connects to the router...on port 1 for example...with a similar cable. Once the wireless router is set up properly, the laptop should then be able to connect using wireless.

Wireless Network Driver

Dezzie.

This software will work with your Toshiba Laptop. This software was created by Toshiba. You need to install the Network Adapter. So go to Toshiba's website and update your network adapter drivers for win XP SP2.

Please let me know how this works.

Thank you
