My iron is not even two years old,it is coming on,however it is not heating

sounds like a loose connection in the power transfer, some piece of metal may be broken or the cord itself may be damaged in some place, you could try replacing the cord. if there is no light or heat even when the thermostat is switched to the hottest setting then assumption is that the iron is defective.

with the iron not plugged in check the cable and see if it is worn or kinked or cut. look for any burn markings on the plug. if the iron is some years old it may also be that the element has burnt out. this happens more often in areas where water scale is high.

Please open the cover of your iron and look for the thermal fuse inside.That is the only problem of your iron replaced it on the same ampere and temperature.

your iron has a thermostat fault its this thermostat thats cutting in and out that puts the red light on it could be fixed but that wont be a cheap fix best bet is to buy a new iron as that would work out cheaper

If it is more than 3 years old (no warranty) then you can get it repaired or replaced. The heating coil is broken. The heating coil in the iron cannot be fixed, but must be replaced.

If the iron is less than 3 years old, you can get it repaired under warranty; however, shipping and other costs may not be worth having it repaired. (More than $30).
If you can get an estimate, you might want to have it repaired.
