So, does it always say 'No Signal' or does it come up when you get it connected? If they are off when you are connecting them, that sounds okay; you'd get a signal when you turned the DVD player on (and told the TV to pay attention there.)

You might need to get an upconverting DVD or SVHS machine (since those are not normally HD) to get the TV to tolerate the signal, but the TV menus might let you activate that too. Why not look up the HD Plasma TV manual online according to the model number? If it turns out to be a monitor rather than a TV; of course, that is why it would not display those signals...you would need a separate tuner or signal selector box for that.

What's that bumpersticker abbreviation... ROFLMAORTFMYGDSOB? Good luck checking those out, since you get to decide which box renders the SD signal into HD....

Hi,
Problem seems with main tuner in this tv as other AV inputs working fine so please replace main tuner (TU2) to solve this issue.
There are two tuners mounted on A board TU1 and TU2, please replace TU2 and part number would be written on tuner itself.
TV is approx 10 years old so I would recommend that do not spend lots of money on it.
Thanks.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal,make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

I am having connection issues with an LG 55lh40 television, a HD DVR from Directv, a PS3 and a DVD/VCR combo. The TV seems to be working good, but does not seem to be picking up an HDMI cable of any kind....

No picture
when connecting HDMI:
Check HDMI cable over version 1.3.
The HDMI cables don’t support HDMI version 1.3, it cause flickers or no screen
display. In this case use the latest cables that support HDMI version 1.3.

When tv is turned on with cable channels picture is snowy. when dvd or vhs tape played through tv the picture is snowy

Try using the video inputs
What to do if you have an all snowy picture (blue screen or the TV displays unusable signal-no signal or no sync)
1 – If you are using a digital cable box or satellite receiver (make sure it’s on) and be sure your TV is set for either CH3 or CH4 (which ever you usually view it on). If you usually view it through video inputs (video1 or 2 etc.) make sure the appropriate input is selected.
If you still don’t get a signal see if you get picture using the DVD or VCR (if available) if you do than plug the satellite or Dig. Box temporarily into the place of the DVD (unplug DVD) you may have to use some A/V cables (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) to hook to the tv from the sat./dig. box. If you get a signal then the sat./dig box is ok. If not the Sat./dig box is not sending a signal and is either defective or needs to be rebooted (unplug wait 5 min try again).
2 – If you are using standard cable or antenna (source) if possible check that the source is good by connecting to another TV. Otherwise try running the source into a VCR and then out to the TV using video inputs (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) and then selecting the appropriate input. Try seeing if the VCR plays using standard CH3 (or CH4)
If the VCR plays on video input but not when connected to CH3 (CH4) then the tuner of the TV may be defective – see if you can use the VCR to change channel using the VCR remote.
Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

How do I connect the VCR & DVD when I have a Comcast box

Good Day,

Not knowing what type of TV you own, let's try this:

1. Hook your Audio from your TV to your amp; TV's audio output to an amp input.(eg; video one)
2. Hook vcr/dvd/c box to inputs to your TV.(eg; vcr to video 1 on tv, dvd to tv's video 2)

Let me ask you how many inputs does your tv have?
Is tv, box&dvd HD?? Iwill help but give me more information. Thanks

Just bought TV and connected with red,white, yellow and s-video connections. screen says NO SIGNAL. I have a satellite dish and dvd/vcr. the dvd/vcr image shows up on tv screen.

* Possible Problem *
It's not clear how you have each of the components connected to the TV, but you do mention that you used the "yellow" and s-video connections. Those are both video connections. The yellow is a "composite video" connection. Many TVs won't accept signals from both the yellow and the s-video connections at the same time. Usually one will override the other.

* Possible Solution *
Make sure the satellite dish is on and (hopefully) on a valid channel. Try disconnecting the s-video and checking the screen. If it didn't work, remove the yellow connection and replace the s-video cable. Check again.

If the problem persists, please explain how the TV, dish and the dvd/vcr devices are connected to each other (audio cables not relevant).

DVD player is stuck in Progressive Scan mode - can happen quite easily. I will need to know the mnaufacturer and model of the dvd player to tell you how to reset it.
