Hmmm..tha't's truly weird.

go to control panel, system, device manager, and remove the keyboard from list..

then do a hardware scan(upper menus) with mouse control,

see if it 'sees' the keyboard again.

all else fails? get a bios update from your nec folks

My mouse and keyboard won't work...after i restart it several times, then it works,,,it will wake up out of standby or start up,but the mouse won't move, sometimes when the mouse does move the keyboard won't...

i assumed that you use device PS2 (Mouse & Keyboard), this rarely situation, but you haved installed and not more better, because the problem not with your system, but with your hardware, maybe you can change with USB Mouse Device and for Keyboard PS2 is better than USB Keyboard.

My keyboard will not work? I try to type and nothing happens everything else is working fine

Hello,

I would recommend making sure the keyboard is connected to the proper connection on the pc. If it is, check to make sure you have no POST error when the pc reboots. (Most times your pc will halt if no keyboard is detected.) If you get no error after the reboot and your connections are correct, you will need to get a new keyboard.

PS - Make sure you 9 pins in the connector of the keyboard connection. (Look at the end that plugs into the pc you can see the pins form a semi-circle.

Good Luck

My keyboard stopped working

What kind of keyboard connector does it have?

If the end of the connector is round with pins (serial connection), just plug the keyboard back in and reboot the computer. With that style of connector, if they get knocked out or come loose while the computer is running, they will not always work again until you reboot.

If the keyboard uses the flat plug (USB) connector, the computer should be able to pick it up again without a reboot when you reconnect it. Also note that if the keyboard is USB and it stops working; if you have any other USB items hooked up as well (IPod, webcam, external drive, etc), check to see if any of those devices are still working either before rebooting your system. Sometimes, another unrelated USB device may crash causing ALL USB devices to fail simultaneously. If this is the case, unplug all USB devices except your keyboard and reboot. If the keyboard works again, reinstall all of your other devices one at a time until you locate the one that crashed all of them (if that was the case).

Hope this helps.

PLEASE HELP.. KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ARE COMPLETELY DEAD

If you can bott the computer normally and don't have to type a password in, then go the control panel and then choose device manager. Scroll down to the mouse and keyboard plus signs and right click on the mouse and keyboard one at a time and select uninstall. When the original mouse and keyboard have been uninstalled, reboot the computer. When Windows starts back up it will be forced to search for the new hardware and will install the drivers for it. If it wants to search for new ones allow it. If you have to type a password, you will have to go and get a usb keyboard that works off one of the usb ports. If this doesn't work, reboot the computer with the Vista disc in. Click any button to boot from the cd. When the windows files load and windows starts, choose repair, choose the windows installation and let windows search for problems and see if it can fix them. If all fails, go to system restore and back the computer up a few days and let system restore fix the problem by taking you back in time a few.

Wireless mouse and keyboard issues

If you have both sets of keyboard and mouse plugged in, turn off the computer and remove the old mouse and plug in the new mouse. Reboot and if necessary use the keyboard to login. Once windows is loaded let it detect the new mouse and then shut down again. Take out the old keyboard and reboot. You should now be able to use both new pieces without problems.

Hi,

This means that you need a driver for the keyboard which can be located on your system manufacturers website.

Please rate me. Thank You.
