Hmmm..tha't's truly weird.

go to control panel, system, device manager, and remove the keyboard from list..

then do a hardware scan(upper menus) with mouse control,

see if it 'sees' the keyboard again.

all else fails? get a bios update from your nec folks

My nec versa e2000 always reboot after power up for a few minutes

It would seem that a driver may be the cause which is loading during startup.
Suggest booting into safe mode by pressing F8 before laptop boots into Windows and then use msconfig to select the drivers to load at boot time.
Keep eliminating drivers until you locate the one causing the problem and then remove and check for a later verison of the driver.

Dear Sir, Re: Laptop NEC Versa E6300. When I am using the keyboard a,b,c,...I get the wrong letters. Somebody told me I have pressed the ''Fn'' key by mistake. Please help & thanks. Regards Sheik A...

The fn key would convert most abc keys into function keys not make them produce other letters. You may have changed your region settings or your keyboard style. Both can be changed under the control panel under keyboard settings.

Nec versa e2000 laptop

Joelmar, you are incorrect. This model was also sold with xp, I'm typing this on one. If you still have the original Hdd and have not formatted the recovery partition, boot up the laptop whilst holding the f11 key. This will start NEC recovery and allow you to reinstall the system, drivers included. Back up first!

Keyboard problems when booting up

Hi,
i can advise you with this.
it may help if you disable the original keyboard, as you may have a device conflict between the 2. you can do this from within windows.
ensure your drivers are correctly installed, for the keyboard, and the motherboard. Go into My Computer/ Control Panel/System/Device Manager And see if you have any yellow exclamation Marks. this will determine that the Device is functioning correctly. And if not you can update the driver or find the conflicting device.
Finally ensure this is the first keyboard that the computer sees, adjustment in the bios configuration.

Keypad

If your keyboard features a special key "Fn" Do this: Press Alt + Fn or Fn + Caps lock. If it does not apply....you should have a special that helps you activate special fuctions noted on your keyboard. You have to find that key. Holding it down type the problematic keys. You will get it right.
