Try cleaning the cartridge terminal/contact with a cloth with mild solvent or try using a pencil eraser.

The red light flashes on my NES and on the TV screen, it keeps on changing colors. Do you know whats wrong?

The NES is touchy like that, sadly-- your problem isn't uncommon. My NES, and the NES of nearly every friend I have who still owns one, plays this little trick on them from time to time. Here's what we do:

1. Turn off the NES console.
2. Blow into bottom of the game, near the chip that connects to the NES.
3. Wipe away any excess dust from the game itself.
4. Blow into the console of the NES.
5. Wipe away any excess dust.
6. Re-insert the game and try again.

If this doesn't work, try placing the game in more delicately, or with more force. It's just a matter of trial and error, and sometimes it will work faster than others. Hope this helped!

I turn it on and the game won't play nes so it turns blue or pink or white the color just changes everytime I turn it on

have you tried blowing into the slot on the nes where you put the games or into the bottom of the game itself. sometimes dust gets in there and causes errors like that.
hope this helps

Whenever i turn on my NES the power light blinks and the screen blinks colors, why?

Hi sounds like the common fault found with these old retro consoles. Flashing light is mostly because the system does not make good contact with the game. which may be because of a worn out connector pins in side the console or dirty games recommend cleaning all your games with a game cartridge paste cleaner and replacing the connector pin with a new one. see they carry these items and included photo instructions.

Hi, I was do you fix a NES which has been blinking? Like the screen flashing and restarting the game?

Replace the connector, these wear out over time. Here is a place I found thru Amazon that sells them:

It will require you to take apart the system and to take out the old connector and replace it with the new one and then put the system back together and it will be like you have a whole new NES again.

Same thing as the other guy, it just flashes a pink screen

If by Nintendo you mean the old classic consoles... well when they get older the game and console don't connect very well. I spent several minutes trying to get the game to read on my NES. The usual solution people have is to blow on the connectors on the game but I found just inserting the game in and trying each time is just as well. Eventually they will align but beware, sometimes the slightest movement can throw it off so don't move the system around after you get it to work.

NES color scheme is wrong

Open up your NES , and take the metal shielding off. Get a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol and clean the inside connections (zero friction connectors). Then clean the contacts inside of the game itself. Put the game in an press it down, use another game to hold the game inside of it all the way down (i dont know if there will be anything to hold it down without the top on....but you should get the idea once you have the top back on.

That should do the trick. The inside connections get dirty after time. I keep rubbing alcohol and and altoids tin hand. To clean the contacts and hold down the game. (the altoids tin let you close the lid so you look less ghetto.)

I have 6 NES's. and they all had similiar problems. They just needed some love and care

if that doesnt work, go to a very enthusiatic classic videogame board.

NES in Black and white only...?!

Thats quite a odd issue, and I have never heard or seen a case such as this. Maybe your color balance chip is fried? NES is a 20+ year old system, so I wouldn't doubt the NES may have more issues then just a lockout chip error or a new pin connector.
