There are three ways to enforce the changes, and it is quite impressive for this calculator. Yet for you it is not enough. I am sorry but I am not aware of another way.
Maybe, just maybe, if you fixed the number of decimal digits to 0, all your results will be integers, and there won't be any reason to convert any result to a decimal and the problem will be solved.
To change a displayed result into a fraction, press the [S=D] key. To force a result to be displayed as a decimal number before it is displayed, press [SHIF][=] instead of [=].

Look on the back of the calculator. There should be a rectangle (rounded) where it says Casio and under it Rating. You should find there the battery type. For example, if it says LR44x1, you need one battery LR44 or equivalent. Different manufactures use different reference numbers.
Alternatively you may open the battery compartment, and read the reference number on the battery itself.
