F1703 monitor goes blank after 1-2 seconds

Got the video board out and all looks well. Any ideas?

Resolder the Red Invertor transformer and power transistors around it.

Problems with my monitor


See HP 1703 album. You need to remove the old solder from the 4 inductors, clean the inductor leads and resolder, also look for purple caps with bulging tops, replace them.

My hp pavilion F1703 monitor goes blank about every 30 seconds.


Thsi model has known problem with bad solder joints due to contamination, you need to remove the old solder on the four inductor leads, clean the leads eal well and resolder, see my pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/HP%20F1703/
Al so look to see any one of the capacitors have bulging top, they should be completely flat top.

Dell E153FPd Power stays on but video goes off after 2 seconds.


3 ideas here. bad connections on the coils inside. the inverter board has gone bad, or bad capacitors on the power board or inverter board. all of witch should be serviced by a qualified service center.

F1703 LCD goes blank after 1-2 seconds


You are not looking for a problem in the inductors. There are 4 transistors (2 pairs) near the transformers where the CCFL's plug into the board. They short out and you end up with your problems.

The transistors have 3 legs and stick up out of the board. They will look fine visually, since they are shorted internally.

Screen goes blank after 2 seconds!


Blank Blank or can you see shadows?
If you see shadow images then the backlight or inverter has failed
If it is blank blank then graphics card or connector/cable problem
