Minka aire ceiling fan

I had a minka aire ceiling fan installed about two years ago. Tonight the 50 watt halogen recessed light bulb burned out. We went to replace it, but as soon as we put it in, and then turned it on - it blew the bulb out?
I have the same problem Post a new problem

This may not apply. There could be an electrical problem. But if you installed the bulb with your hand, the oil on your skin can cause the buld to heat excessively and fail. I suggest you use the packaging or part of it when installing it, taking great care not to touch it.
