Question about SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player

I can't pause a book

I have an audiobook on m240. I want to listen to it in sections like i did on my m230. Now every time i try to hold the place and shut it off it resets to the beginning. The weird thing is that it shows the place on the screen but it starts at the beginning. I have tried every way to pause it, shutting it down, nothing seems to work.

Hi,

Have you tried reformatting it?
that might help as it could be a once off.

God Bless

Will the sansa e250 record books from CDs with chapters in ORDER?

The Sansa won't. You have to exercise a little care when you rip multi-disk audiobooks from CD to your hard drive. The scheme I use is to put a disk number at the beginning of the title (so I don't have to scroll to the end to see it). Then I just listen to the audiobook one disk at a time. I don't mind having to pause once an hour or so to go on to the next disk.

Synchronize to continue your music subscription?

Go ahead and hook your mp3 player up to the PC and hit the sync tab in Windows Media Player. Disconnect it safely and try playing one more time. If that fails, remove the audiobooks completely from the Sansa and reload them.

You might also want to double-check Sansa's website - it seems that one of their firmware upgrades related to Audiobook play.

Playback of audio files does not resume where I left off when powering back on

I have an e260. I use it for audiobooks a lot. I just press pause (centre top of the dial), and the track will resume from there next time (unless I go back to the main menu for radio of course.)

Playing audiobooks -

Go to the first chapter and play all. For some reason if you go to the author and play all it will mix the order. Hope this helps

No longer holds a bookmark

I've had my MuVo V100 for a year and can tell you it only saves the bookmark for the last file played. Hence, if you're into a long audiobook, don't switch to another. I've taken to making note of where I am because if the battery dies while playing it will also go back to the last saved bookmark.

TIP: if you accidentally switch away from a book you're listening to, pull the battery BEFORE turning it off -- it will revert to your last bookmark.

my 2 cents
