If you installed the network card already & you are currently running Win 2000 you can see if windows has a driver for your card. Open device manager. Scroll down to network adapters. Right click on network adapters left click scan for hardware changes or you should have a yellow ! point for a PCI device. Right click on that & left click install. What you want is windows 2000's Mfg's list of nic cards. You might find the brand & model no# listed. You can also use windows update. Under hardware you will most likely see your nic card & allow you to install it's driver. If you post the brand & model no# I'll find the driver for you.
All drivers for HP Compaq D220M, HP Compaq d220 Microtower Desktop PC & Windows 2000 drivers are listed below at the link;

FROM WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD WINDOWS XP SP2 LAN DRIVER FOR HP PROLIANT ML110 G6

Hi ppswalia

Since this is a Server, rather than an ordinary Desktop computer, it is not designed to work with normal Windows XP Operating Systems. It is designed to work specifically with Windows, Unix and Linux Server Applications. See here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3577715&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3577708

There are 2 things you can try.

You can try installing the LAN/Ethernet Drivers for the various Windows Server versions from the above official HP Downloads and Drivers Support Website and see if one of them just happens to coincidentally be compatible with XP SP2.

Assuming there are no further compatibility issues between other Server Motherboard Devices and Win XP SP2 Drivers, you could open the Server case and either bypass any on-board LAN/Ethernet/NIC Port or remove any separate LAN/Ethernet/Network Card installed and install, instead, a pre-confirmed Win XP compatible LAN/Ethernet/NIC Card and then install the drivers for the new card.

I hope this helps.

Want to install printer

If you are running Windows XP or Windows Vista, you may simply plug in the printer to the computer, and the computer will install the generic driver.

By default, Windows XP and Vista already has the generic driver installed.

However, if the printer is not a Plug-n-Play device, you will need to load the CD that came with the printer, and follow the installation wizard.

Thank you and good luck!

R300 2nd NIC card "No driver installed"

I saw this a couple of months ago...let's see if I can remember:

In our case we even added a third nic (pci) and it wouldn't work

First, it is possible that the new mainboard has a different chipset on the nic than the last one. Check the driver d/l site for alternate drivers or Contact Dell support to be sure the right driver is in place.

Regardless of how secure your systems may be, please scan with the following three free excellent products:
malwarebytes antimalware
superantispyware
asquared free

Also, does the nic work if you slow it down or on auto?

I think it was malware in my clients' case. Get back to me if still ng and I'll ask their sysadmin if she remembers.

Network card not detecting in RHEL4 & 5

The solution proposed by user 'Solutions58' seems to be about windows box since he is talking about 'Device Manager'
RHEL4 or 5 detect compatible NIC cards during boot up process automatically. Sometimes NIC may be detected but may not work properly due to lack of proper driver (a.k.a Module - in Linux culture).
Do this -
1. First find out from HP's web site if NIC for your model has Linux support. You can also use Google to find appropriate driver for your NIC. If yes then you need to follow instructions that are provided in the INSATLL file that comes bundled with the driver.
2. Otherwise buy a $10 NIC card which has Linux support. Disable your onboard NIC through your computer's BIOS and boot it. Linux should detect your NIC right away.
3. Following command can help you in your quest
As root
# dmesg | grep eth (Will show your detected NIC)
# service network status (Will also show configured & active devices)
# ifconfig -a (Will also show your network devices and related info)
# system-config-network (will let you configure your NIC via GUI)
(This would be your best choice)
# system-config-newtowk-tui (Will give you a text base interface to configure your NIC)

Nic ethernet card not working via rj45 port seria port ok to web

Is this a recently installed card? If so, the "usual" procedure is to install the drivers first, then shut down the computer, install the card, then reboot and let the Windows "found new hardware wizard" run. (Otherwise you may end up with a generic driver.) If you installed the NIC in another manner, uninstall the driver first.
Of course, manufacturer's directions should be followed when possible.
If it is an existing card, you can go to the manufacture's website and download the latest driver. Before installing the new driver you need to uninstall the old driver (it may have become corrupted) through device manager (right click "my computer", select "properties" select the "hardware" tab then "device manager". Then check the box next to "network adapters". Right click your NIC and select "uninstall".
