whilst using the internet the computer shut down. When i try to turn it on the lights come on but it doesnt load. The screen has a message No Video input.Once or twice it has loaded but then it goes into sleep mode.

the computer is a mitac tower with windoes xp. I cannot run it without the internet connection. I have been able to turn it on it comes but only to desktop and then says going into sleep mode.

Ok I will try that Thank You the next time is does boot up, but most of the time it doesnt, it seems that it is such as the fan working and the dvd drive making noises but thats it then nothing happens.

hmm..kimmie..can you illuminate me a bit about your computer model and also operating system? also, can you run it without the internet connection?

ok..try this...turn it on again, and while it's booting up, press F8..that's safe mode..turns on a small number of applications and you should be able to open control panel, then display, and turn off the hibernate or sleep mode that's driving us both nuts.
