You cannot adjust the volume when the stereo cord is plugged into the back of the dock. Instead, plug the stereo cord into the front headphone jack of the dock. You will be able to adjust the volume then.

You will need to use the aux input from the top of the unit, or from the back of your home dock. If your receiver has a built in or add-on dock for the XM2GO line of radios, you will need to read here: http://www.digitalradiocentral.com/sirius-backstage/stiletto/108379-i-converted-xm2go-dock-stiletto.html
I am having the same problem. Sirius must've sent out a bug cause many stiletto users are coming forth. Mine stopped working about 1 month ago as of today March 26. Sirius Representative told me today that they are being discontinued.
If you’re having this problem while using the FM transmitter try using a different FM Station.I have the same problem.Mine only does this when I am using the FM transmitter.I recently noticed my volume is adjustable on certain FM Stations, and on other FM stations the volume control is limited. I hope this helps.
I had a sync problem with the Stiletto 2 (SL2) and was able to resolve it by the following procedure:
Click "Start" Click "Run" > Type "devmgmt.msc" Click "+" next to "Other Devices" Note: You should see a question mark and exclamation point next to "Stiletto 2" Right click on "Stilleto 2" (to see menu); then, left Click "Update Driver." Follow the steps in the windows hardware update wizard.
