Question about HTC Touch P3450 Smartphone

Call display problems

My call display often does not work properly... either not showing a name and number until the call is answered or only showing the number and the name is cut off. This applies to numbers that are stored as my contacts as well. Very frustrating!! Any help would be much appreciated

Same problem here. I have found that to avoid such problems you need to restart the phone once every 3 or 4 days. You This solves the problem.

LG KU990 Caller ID

  • If you answer the call, the number (or number and name) stays on the display until either you or the caller hangs up.
  • If you do not answer the call, most display units keep a record of the calls received, including the phone number (or number and name), date, and time.
  • If the letter P, priv, private, or a similar term appears, the caller may have blocked the display of his or her number.
  • If the letter O, ????, out of area, or a similar message appears, the caller either is in an area that does not support Caller ID or has placed the call using operator assistance.
  • Caller ID comes with Anonymous Call Rejection, which, when active, allows you to reject calls from callers who block their number. Your phone does not ring, and the caller hears a message saying blocked calls will not go through.
    • To turn on Anonymous Call Rejection, press
      *77 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1177 on a rotary phone)
    • To turn off this service, press
      *87 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1187 on a rotary phone)

Private number

You have your phone set to hide your caller identification.
Go to Menu -> Settings (4th tab) -> Call settings -> Common setting -> Send my number
Select on to show your number to the people you call.

Contact name doesnot appear properly when a call comes on the phone

For the names to be displayed, you have to save them against the numbers that are displayed.

yeah it's because i think you have the "name display" feature offered by Fido/Rogers i got the same problem lol. Call them up and tell them to take it off or change your package. a1200 doesn't support the "Name Display" feature.

Cell display of area/location and Service provider name ( SP5m)

Generally, SIM cards carry the names of network providers. At times, a device may have the list of network provider "Nice Names" which correspond to the network provider's actual network display. Example: 310-490 -> Suncom Wireless If Suncom Wireless is not in the list defined by the SIM card or device, "310-490" will be displayed.
