Hello. Unfortunately, the X5470 doesn't have the capability of getting connected wireless to a phone line. For faxing, it's still works like an ordinary fax machine where it has to be connected physically to the phone line with a telephone cable. Hope I can help you more on this.

Hi,

I too was having the same problem. We too have a wireless router hooked up. However, that had nothing to do with the problem. Our problem was that the top phone line port on the fax machine should run to the phone jax in the wall. The bottom phone line port on the machine should run to the phone. We had them switched around.

I hope this helps.

I hooked up a wap54g access point to a cat-5 line then connected to a router...but cant print to the printer on the network. any help?

If the wireless works okay, then you need to add the printer to your pc. Go to printers in the control panel, select add printer, and follow the prompts. If still no good , let me know if the make/model of the printer and whether it is connected directly to a pc on the network, or plugged into a router/switch with an ethernet cable.

I can't hook my computer up to my phone line for internet. I have my router and another desktop hooked up to the phone line through the router.

That modem is in itself a router. However it only has one Ethernet port and no means of broadcasting a wireless Internet Signal which makes its function of a Router somewhat useless. What you need a(n) (wireless) access point. The Access Point will give you more Ethernet slots allowing more computers to be connected to the modem/router via CAT5 (Ethernet) cables. Depending on if you get a Wireless access point or not you might also be capable of using a wireless adapter to connect to the 2wire and get Internet access.

Let me know if I need to clarify any of the points above or if I can assist you further.

No directions for attaching a phone line to mfc 240c.

small phone line goes from your wall switch to the rear of your ADSL modem, then the fatter wire goes from the modem to the input on the rear of your computer.
If it is wireless modem,,and you have a wireless connection on your computer then it should discover the connection by itself, after hooking all the wires up properly

Hi Brenda,

Your All In One wants a phone line hooked directly to it. It won't fax without a "POTS" line directly hooked to it. POTS stands for "Plain Old Telephone Service" which is the line with good old dial tone on it.
