I would consider buying a microwave in the near future, or at least not standing there watching your food cook the whole time. The film works with the grid with the small holes in it to eliminate the microwave radiation that the unit produces. A hole in this film compromises the intergrity of the unit. Essentially it would be like tryring to create a dark room with no light and having a hole in your covering, creating an escape for the light to get through.

Cannot access screw for lower part of handle blocked by interior assembly

The inside of the door must come apart. Be careful that screen inside the door is actually a choke to keep the microwave radiation in. Make sure that you replace each and every screw and everything else just as you took it apart.

Good luck

Start button an 1/2 buttons on keypad no work in my GE JVM150H microwave. Interior light also stays on.

The door has latch switches that are part of the protection and operation when door is closed, is the new door identical and switches match up {same number} if everything checks and the door switches are all working, the door needs to be checked for alignment, if it's out a small margin the switches will not operate properly.

The film on the inside of the microwave oven door has bubbled & is raised off the glass. Is it safe to use.

No, that must be patched or replaced. It's critical.

The film protects the door screen from getting food, grease or moisture in it, which can lead to corrosion and arcing.

The screen prevents microwave energy leakage, which can cause arcing and fire.

If the bad spot is not too big, you can cut it away and clean it squeaky clean and patch it with clear packing tape.

If it's too bad to patch, you'll have to see if you can get new film, or if you need to order the inner door panel or whole door.

Condensation inbetween glass door on GE Spacemaker

Your glass seal has failed and I doubt it makes sense to replace the door. Yes, it can be dangerous as the moisture becomes worse you risk the chance the glass could over-heat and blow out. Sounds like you need to replace it, sorry!

The mesh screen on the inside door has a hole in it..

would suggest replacing door for safety purposes only," it could be fine as far as resisting waves",but never sure for how long or if it realy is. An old saying makes sense," Better safe than sorry".

just use sand paper to clean the rust then use some high temperature paint (sold in tins) eg spray paint but it must be labeled high temperature and spray 2 to 3 coats . your microwave should be safe again

Metal singed on microwave door: your response

Sorry I don't have the paint or parts. I mostly do repairs.

The paint should be available at big box stores like Wal-Mart, home improvement centers like Builder's Square, Lowe's, or Home Depot, or hardware stores or local appliance parts stores.

You can order the plastic sheet (called the "door film") here. It is part # WB06X10490.

Be sure the mesh is clean and dry before installing the new film.

GE SpaceMaker Microwave suddenly stops while heating

I had same problem last week. My GE JVM1650 Spacemaker stopped after a few seconds of heating. Owned 16 months, manufactured Jan 2005. It was the magnetron, which was replaced yesterday. The magnetron has a 10-year warranty, but I had to pay $161.00 for labor by a GE technician. The call-out fee was waived at my request. I don't know what that amount would have been, but I can't believe the $161.00 for what was about 1/2 hour labor once diagnosed. Good Luck!
