Power problem with RCA chasis ITT 222

TV does not start it blinks several times and does not turn on.
Any idea if its a typical problem with this TV or where the problem could be? The power supply checks out and the Horizontal output too.

My set starts to come on then the power light just goes out. I let it sit for a week then it came back on and stayed on until I turned it off. Then trying to turn it back on it did the same thing...the power light just goes back out. The picture occasionally will pop up for a second before it goes back out when I try to power it up.

I have an RCA hd56w33 in which this morning there was a sound similar to a blown circuit breaker, and the tv just shut off. Now when I attempt to power it on the power light flashes three times and makes a chirp each time it flashes. There were no odors or power surges when this took place. The TV is connected to a surge protector as well. Any advice would greatly be appreciated as the nearest technician for this tv is an hour and a half drive from where I live. Please Help!!

This a very common ocurrance among these set. I Deal with the rca itc222 chasis daily at the shop. I have found these set can be very tricky to troubleshoot. These set have a microprocessor that will shut the set down for 1 of about 25 different reasons. technicians have a device called chipper check that can read errors that the processor generates. i have found that the majorty of problems are high voltage like the hot and flyback. or the tubes. When you say "power supply checks out" what do you mean. There is a slight chance it could be bad data in eprom too. Does the set make any noise chirps, are there any smells. what was the set doing when it shut down. give me all the details and we will see if we can help since you no what "horizontal ouput is I ASSUME that you have some eletronic knowledge.

Won't program soon as I start pressing code numbers my rca universal remote power light flashes 4 times

You may be using the wrong technique. Turn on your TV. Using a typical RCA universal remote, press and hold CODE SEARCH until the indicator lights, then release. Press and release TV. The indicator will blink once, then remain lit. Press and release OFF-ON until your TV turns off. Be aware that up to 200 presses may be required!

When I turn on light goes on with a squeaky noise and then goes picture and tv does not turn on

a noise like you describe is a symptom of what is known as the horizontal output transistor. It would be shorted and along with that the flyback transformer is bad. the flyback is very common problem with the ge version of the rca itc 222 chasis. This repair generally runs 80 to 150 dollars to repair at your local tv shop.. well maybe at our shop but that an average.

Good morning, i have a 50'' rca hdtv rear projection.../ and when i turn it ''on'' there is no sound and no picture..but the blue light comes on and then blinks 4 times and the 5th time it stays on then...

You might have a bad lamp. RCA DLP projection That is the most comon problem with them. CRT rear projection, Red,Green, and Blue tubes. If it is the silver one w/the black speaker grill. Chass # _ _ _222 ?
Has 222 in the number. Can be several problems. Many things go wrong in those. Horz. Output,Flyback,And bad soldering are the most common problems w/those. Recomend staying away from RCA. Not the same company they once were.
