Itispossible that the high voltage module went out, and to have it repair you are looking at babout 500, at the lest, and if it was me I just buy a new LCD, prices have really went down. You can good to www.partstore.com and checkand see if they have a highvoltage, deflection module, for your set, Take care.
It sounds like the RED CRT is cracked which will cause a red line. You can verify by looking into the lens of the Red CRT with a flasnlight if you see a line the CRT needs replacement. If no line then chances are the Convergence IC may have a problem.
you need to general service the whole unit. this will include re-soldering and changing some defective components from the board, which has been damaged through using from past years. my advice is to have a quotation from service tech and then think about repairing it..if it is better to buy a new one..
I will assume from you description that this is a rear projection crt(picture tube) tv. if this is true I have good news/bad news.
faint red horizontal bowed lines in the picture indicate the screen(G2) voltage for the red tube is too high.Slight lowering of the G2 adjustment will eliminate these lines. I stress SLIGHT because too much adjustment will mess up the gray scale .
The bad news the red crt made be bad. if the adjustment works but in the future the problem reappears then suspect the red crt.red crt replacement is probably not economical to repair.
