Glow plug glows flame lights up after 30 sec flame goes out

If the burner assembly lights, then the problem is usually not with the igniter or regulator. More than likely the gas valve safety coils need to be replaced. There are two of them on the burner assembly. You need to replace BOTH of them at the same time.

If the model number is correct, you can view and illustration of your burner assembly here:

http://pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php

The coils are listed as items 729 and 731. Part numbers WE4X692 and WE4X693, respectively.

If you have any questions, or if your model number differs from the one you listed this question under, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

My Kenmore gas dryer runs but it does not dry.

Obviously make sure the gas supply valve is open and gas is going to the unit.
Then determine if the burner is lighting at all... there is a small plastic plug in the lower left of the front panel. If you remove this plug you can see the burner assembly.
When the drier powers up you should see a glow plug that gets red hot, then a click (the solenoid opening) then the burner should light and you should see a blue flame.
If this does not happen, the glow plug will go out and then in a minute or so, the process will start again with the glow plug and the click.
If this cycle repeats without ANY lighting of the burner, you need to replace the burner assembly and/or safety valve... send the model number and I'll show you the parts.
If the burner lights for a few seconds and then extinguishes, it is probably a faulty flame sensor, which is a probe extending into the path of the burner flame about in the middle of the burner assembly (It makes sure the flame is lit and if it doesn't get hot enough it closes the gas valve to avoid filling your laundry area with gas). You can try cleaning it, and then replacing it. Again if you give me the model # I can help you...

Glow plug lights but does not fire gas everything

This is most likely faulty gas valve coils. These electrical coils are located just above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. If faulty, the gas valves cannot open and the burner cannot light. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at once if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

After starting my GE gas dryer , the burner fires and everything seems fine . The burner stays on for a few minutes and shuts off like it's supposed to . After a few minutes , the glow element turns on to...

Watch the igniter. Does it glow bright orange, then shut off without igniting the gas? (When the gas ignites there's a large blue flame.) If so, there may be defective coils on the gas valve. Mounted on the top of modern gas valves, there are black electrical coils. The coils, when energized, open the gas valve. If one or more of the coils are defective, the valve doesn't open and the gas cannot ignite. Because it's often difficult to properly test the coils, it's usually best to replace both (all) of them at the same time.

hi..

Open the burner access door and then turn the dryer on. Watch inside the burner compartment for the glow coil to light up and glow. If all the controls are set correctly on the front control panel and the dryer is running, but the glow coil fails to glow, you've located the defective part. The glow coil will need to be replaced.
To remove the coil, turn off the gas first. Unplug the dryer from the electrical wall plug. Then remove the entire gas valve as an assembly. The nut on the gas valve to remove it from the gas supply pipe turns counter clockwise. There will be small sheet metal screws used to secure the plate to which the burner assembly parts are attached. The plate holds the entire assembly and is attached to the bottom of the dryer's cabinet.
Next, remove the glow coil from the burner assembly. Take the entire assembled part to the local appliance retail parts store for a replacement coil. Glow igniters are fragile and they break easily. Handle and install the new igniter carefully. Glow igniters are a non-returnable and non-refundable electric component.
Be advised that some new replacement igniters do not come with quick disconnect ends. In this case, it is OK to cut off the quick, disconnect from the old igniter and attach it to the new igniter. Simply clip off the wires several inches above, disconnect the old igniter, attach to the wires of the new igniter, and wire nut the two ends together. Repeat the process to attach the other set of wires and wire nut them together. There is no positive nor negative polarity to be concerned with.

if ignitor not coming on could be flame sensor mounted on side of burner housing or ignitor ..if ignitor glowing but burner no lighting replace both solenoids bad connections interally on solenoids..also if ignitor not glowing possible small white thermal fuse open.. sensor and fuse can be jumped across to confirm ..
