Do you mean (like when you first got the PC?) Or do you just want to get your speed back like it used to be?
To (Restore) the Pc you would put the restore cd in the cdrom & start the PC, the restore cd will start up & you follow the on-screen instructions. All personal data will be earsed.

To regain your systems speed.

1. Run a complete system virus-scan. Updated

2. Clean your windows from junk.

Or

& or any one of these free programs:

3. Run system Defrag. Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools > Defrag. When finished re-start the PC.

Good Luck & Best Wishes!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

CPU running slow - I think the pentium went into a slow mode when the CPU fan failed. Dell BIOS does not have an option to restore to normal speed as Phoenix BIOS does.

Do you ever get a warning of low virtual memory? If so, go to microsoft.com. Then type in yyour operating system. It will then give you the appropriate propram to clean it up.

Hi all. I need to reset my acer travelmate 2451 back to factory settings as it is now very slow (no recovery disc) any idears Mike

Hi,

You could try to do a system restore to a date near to purchase. It is normally under start --> accessories --> system tools. Backup all your data before doing a system restore!!

Cheers

PC runs extra slow

Without knowing what changes you made, it is hard to solve your problem.

If all you have changed is software, run a system restore back to before you made the changes.

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and select System Restore.

Follow the prompts and select a bold date prior to the changes you made. After rebooting, you should be back to normal.

If you made hardware changes, undue them if you can.

Also, a 10 GB drive is tiny by today's standards for XP. If you can afford it a larger drive (minimum 40 GB) would not only give more space, but the newer and larger drives run much much faster.

Let me know if you need advice on getting a new drive or if the system restore does not solve the problem. Also, if you need more help, provide *all* the details of what you changed.
