I have a MFC 7220...today it will not send a fax

I have a MFC 7220...today I can't get it to send a fax...the phone works, I can make copies, and get faxes..I called (comcast) the phone company and they said they don't troubleshoot fax machines..it worked yesterday!

You need an ANALOG phone line for faxing, not DIGITAL.

Just beeps when sending and says no answer on senders end when trying to send in

It could be that the person you're sending a fax to has their fax machine off or is out of paper. Also try to send to a different fax number to rule-out its not your printer.

I recommend replacing the drum unit with a new one. Do not forget to follow the instructions on programming the unit to recognize the new drum unit. Otherwise you will still be faced with the message to replace your drum unit.

Fax won't transmit long distance faxes

Your long distance access is being blocked by the telephone company for some reason.

you have a dialing problem.

If you are sending your fax long distance, you have to dial a 1 before the area code.

My Brother mfc-7220 will not accept a fax.

Make sure the phone line is plugged into the LINE port of your machine.

Fax machines will not work reliably on a Cable Phone Line such as VONAGE.

You should have an ANALOG phone line.
