Grill wont heat as it did

Check your burner for rust ect.. It could be plugged. If this is an outside grill make sure there is not white powder built up on the tank side of the regulator. Unhook the line and tap on the regulator and the line and try dumping out anything that you break loose. Also your regulator can go bad due to a powder that is in the gas over time especially if you have copper line. good luck and be carefull.

Using a grill cover is a very smart move. That wil usually prevent the peeling, but the high heat can certainly take its toll. Your best option is to get a heat tolerant paint that is designed for that type of surface. The new spray paints that are made for plastics might work. Just be sure to always check the heat capcaity.

either your regulator is not hooked up to the tank all the way try to turn tank off make sure all knobs are turned off disconnect tank then reconnect turn tank on and try again if this doesnt work the regulator is bad

1. Pull out the burners. Use a can of air or the equivalent to clean them out.

2. Disconnect the regulator from the feed hoses(if possible) Blow the hoses out. Check the regulator for obstruction (even a little bit of fluff, or a tiny spiderweb makes a huge difference) There will be a screen on one side of the regulator.

3. Reconnect and ensure connections are leak free. A soap solution sprayed on joints works well for this. Clean up soap solution thoroughly as some solutions can degrade piping.

***N.B. Do not apply a greater deal of air pressure to the regulator itself - it is rated for 1 - 5 PSI _AT MOST_ ****

This could be caused by a couple of problems. First the regulator could be bad, or the tank is getting to hot. Which causes the relief valve to open and release pressure. This will happen when weather outside is hot.

You need to pull the burners out and scrub open the side feedholes on the burner. These ususally clog up over time reducing the heat available for cooking. Also, sometimes the Gas regulator goes bad over time when left outside for a year or two. A bad regulator will put out less gas as it fails closed.

Yes you can as long as your home uses LPG. You can not use 2 regulators. If your outside line is after your home regulator you need to eliminate the regulator on your grill. LPG products operate on 11" of water column, that's about 1/2" PSI.

Hi John,

I just experienced the same exact problem ! I just bought a brand new Weber E-310 a 3 burner grill.
After I seasoned it up with cooking oil,I turned all the burners to high, opened the tank and clicked electrnic button several times , the grill was on then I went inside, I came out about an half-hour later and it was saying around 275 degrees..
I looked into my manual and there is a gas limit control valve that shuts down gas flow, when it thinks there is too much gas flow.

Sloution;
Turn the propane gas knob to off
Turn the gas grill knobs to Off.
Click the igniter several times to clear out any gas.
Then unscrew the regulator from the tank,( I then blew into the tank hole and regulator),
Screw back on the regulator to the propane tank.
I then clicked igniter again couple of times.
Now open your propane tank.
Then turn on front burner while clicking igniter, this will lite 1st burner.
Then turn 2nd burner on low then to high.
And if you have 3rd burner or more, turn low then to high!

John I did this and my grill went to 600 plus in a few minutes!!

The problem was turning the gas grill knobs on first then opening the tank then lighting...
You have to open propane tank with knobs off, THEN AS SOON AS YOU TURN ON 1ST KNOB, YOU MUST IGNITE ...

1. Are you using a portable LP cylinder? LP Regulators freeze up when the liquid part is the propane is flowing through the regulator this is caused by an overfilling of the propane tank.
2. If the BTU capacity of the regulator is not high enough to cover the BTUs of your grill, the regulator is working too hard and potentially pulling liquid (not vapor as it should)

I would suggest calculating the BTUs of your grill and looking to see what the capacity of the regulator you are using.

Had the same problem. Belive it or not i basically follow the turn on instructions. Disconnet the regulator, let it stand for five minutes, the reconnect and turn it on 1/4 and turn the burner that is at the end of the line. (in my case the is the first one on the left).
