Well..what's on it now? you would for all practical purposes, need to re format the drive. There may be files that are still asking for the 2003 applications, during startup..

it's not like uninstalling some other lighter application.

MS Office Home and Student 2007 keeps locking

I have found that Microsoft's best was the 2003 version of everything, so I might try installing that, but if you need 2007 for some reason I am willing to upload my personal version of 2007 Professional and provide my serial. If you need I can also provide the 2003 version, but there are just a few major bigs in the 2007 version, I would see if you can update it in any way.

    Microsoft office basic edition 2003

Try using the Office 2003 removal tool. Just download the Office 2003 Editions Resource Kit at this link. It's called ork.exe:

    http://www.microsoft.com/office/orkarchive/2003ddl.htm

After it's installed followed these directions:

To locate the tool, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, point to Microsoft Office Resource Kit, and then click Removal Wizard.

Then follow the on screen instructions that will walk you through the removal. After Office is completely removed, restart and try to reinstall.

    Hope this helps!

Go to the pirate bay and download the office 2007 ultimate torrent and install that. Not quite legal but works better then microsucks paranoid protection schemes.
