Question about Nokia 445 Pro 21" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

No signal on first boot

I have a Dell Dimension 8250 desktop with an Nvidia GeForce 6200 card and a Nokia Multigraph 445Xpro monitor. It has XP Professional with up-to-date drivers. The last few weeks when I turn on my PC the only thing that is displayed is the Nokia self-test screen. This has the following information: Red [a red bar displays]
Green [a green bar displays]
Blue [a blue bar displays]
Signal: No Signal
Input D-Sub Selected
Cable: Connected
This message stays on the display no matter how long I wait. What I need to do is to turn the CPU off then turn it back on. Then the monitor gets the signal from the CPU and I can see that the CPU is going through its memory check and then I get the logon display.
I have tried using an Hitachi monitor and different monitor cable and it doesn't get a signal on first boot either.

I have a similar problem. I get the self test screen but I am using BNC and get the BNC No signal, check cable message.

No signal ???????

I have the same problem in setting up two displays, a Dell as primary and a VA2223wm Viewsonic as secondary, both connected to an Nvidia geforce 9500 GT. I think it might be the cable, but it's baffling. I have one DVI cable that seems to work on either monitor, and either plug on the graphics card. The second DVI cable doesn't seem to work, but when it's connected to the Viewsonic, the Nvidia control panel detects the monitor as secondary, so I can change settings, etc., but the monitor still says no signal. Each monitor works separately when connected with one cable, but not with the other.

Thoughts?

Hello, I have been using my asus vw222u monitor for a while now, connected to my dell dimension 4600 pc. I have been running the resolution at 1024x768, and been getting relatively clear pictures, but...

Your graphics card will not support that refresh rate @ 1680x1050. you may need to upgrade your graphics card.

Here is the best price/performance card for your machine. and will support upto 2048x1536 @ 85Hz

Hope this helps.

Do your PC support the above hardware requirements?
The most common input no support would be your graphic card is not up to the mark to play the PC games.

Hope it helps.

EVGA Geforce Nividia 5200 video card. Works with IIYama Vision Maker 450 monitor when using Windows XP. Doesn't work with Ubuntu (Linux). Computer = Dell Dimension 8200. Would like it to work with...

1) Boot your PC
2) when the grub menu appears, use the down arrow to get to the menu option listed as (rescue system)
3) when the text-based menu appears, choose a menu option that gets you to the root shell, then following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/black-screen-while-starting-x-window.html. Debian instructions will work for Ubuntu.

Good luck

Graphics card problems

Hi Jflynn,

I'm not convinced that this is an issue with a driver, but I have to ask whether you've downloaded the latest drivers for the nVidia card.

If not, go here to download them and see if that helps.

your monitor doesnt have drivers for it.. and doesnt need drivers for that matter. It sounds like you dont have the right drivers installed for your graphics card. here is a link to the drivers you need.
